Spell Resistance

What does this do? I do not see any benefit from it. I do not have any base resistance in Magic, Fire, Dark etc....it does not work at all. So what's the point?

I need too say your completely wrong it's working, as a vamp tanking sorcer, last night tanked all fire bosses, with 2000+ spell resit and only got half of the normally damage I do with out the spell resit, some ablitys that look like spells are abblitys not spells FYI. Also the roll on damage resit goss somthing like this this>>>>>

Spell damage vs. spell resist =% of damage reduced= Reduced amount of damage V. Specific damage resist(like fire resist)=% of damage reduced= Total reduced damage v. Shields(like a magic shield)= damage taken if damage is grater then the number of shield points= Total damage taken

I saw someone run the numbers at 2,500 spell resist the mitigation caps out at 50% less damage any more and the damage was the same.

Further more they showed that elemental resist like fire resist seems to just add on top of spell resist and is not multiplicative like most games so a dunmer with +1500 fire resist and 1000 spell resist will take 50% less damage from fire any more fire resist or spell resist will not lower the number further.

For vampires out there as well that means do to the 150% damage you take from fire the lowest you can get it is 75% of the base damage with no resist before you go "ok see I can cancel out fire weakness" a naked level 50 has about 1,100 spell resist mitigating around 20-22% of damage so your still taking the same at cap as a naked non-vampire except players don't play naked so you will always take up to 33% more fire damage then someone who's not a vampire.

Which is why shields and spell damage reduction ablitys are for :) also is 50% increased weekness too fire not 150

"means do to the 150% damage you take from fire" this statement is 100% correct lol it's already added if I said "the 50% damage you take from fire" that statement is false it would mean being a vampire halves the fire damage you take which is wrong it increase it.

When you increase the damage by 50% you can add that to the base damage 100% the total is 150% damage taken from fire.

I feel like everyone here just likes to argue lol and do so before looking at what I write haha.

I did not interpret that correctly I thought u meant the debug was 150% I didn't realize you were adding the Normal damage in there..as a tank idc about the normal amount of damGe I would get I care about the extrah damage I would get :)

I put that in there for you ^.^ if both you and a non vampire are at max mitigation you take 33% more fire damage then he does this is the number you need to worry about you get this from your maximum mitigation being 75% damage taken and his maximum being 50% damage taken which means you take a 3rd more damage or 33.333333% repeating.

Thanks for braking it down for my slow *** lol, and that 33.33 % is what shields and annulment are for :)

Np I'll keep the Shields in mind for if I make a Vampire tank as well if your not taking fire damage vampire has nice passive mitigation and and two ways to drain HP good luck tanking o7.
