Horses: What does "Carry Capacity" do?

You can feed your horse stuff that increases its "carrying capacity" but I have yet to figure out what this does in-game...

I make a few thousand a day just from casual questing and expect to make more at higher levels. It seems like a good investment to spend 2500 for an extra 10 slots to hold crafting mats. reggielee✭✭✭✭Yah, i hear you on the lack of gold if you play alot of pvp...
my main is still concentrating on speed boosts which have made that slow starter horse much bearable. I wont be getting the bags on it tho, as I hope to have the fast mount by then and will do stamina next.

If you switch horses you lose the slots. Having tons of bag space is handy. I bought a draft horse and am just upgrading carry capacity every day and I can roam and quest and do dungeons and farm mats for hours and hours at a time without stopping. Saves alot of having to mess around with addons like bounce and the mail system.
Saving up for a speed horse to use for when I pvp though.0 -
