Yes, you can. Go to settings, select Audio, then use the slider to eliminate the music. Then, turn on your radio, stereo, iPod, or whatever device you'd prefer as your default source of music.

Thank you. I was aware I could do that. The problem with that is the lack of separate battle musics or musics specific to a zone. Is there a modding support of some kind for music?

You can probably trick your OS into playing your music of choice instead of playing the in game sound files.
