Time to *YELL* at bots!

While I wait for my research and reduce my stock of armor / weapon matts, I made a new "sandbox" quest.

There are bots that run around and collect nodes, I am planing on follow them around and "steal" the bot's nodes. I do need those matts as well to level my crafting skill lines and make money for more bag slots.

AND

Use the "yell chat channel" to ask for other players to report the bot as well. In a way is like putting a "neon sign over bots' head!"

1) What do you think of this idea?
2) Am I breaking the TOS?
3) Who else want to do this "quest?"

I think that they need proper ingame GM's that go on a rosta duty where you can contact directly. They can teleport to your location and deal with them. You actually witness them doing the ban business and gain confidence that you actually deal with a human being at ZOS. You can see that they actually care about their game and the player base.

This is the only way as far as I'm concerned. It's similar to the philosophy of real life police where having "Bobbys on the beat" in your local neighbourhood gives you the feeling of security.

No dude... just no. Stealing a bots nodes will not make him/her stop, they are just going to move to another area. Also, a lot of those "bots" you see are actually players. Lots off players can farm for a very long time...

I always use the "tell command" to talk to them 1st, to see if are real humans or not. I know that will not make bots stop botting, but it does help for them to have one less account to work with.

My play style is grinding and farming anyways (do for personal crafting reasons), so I do see them a lot. They can run, but they can not hide.

Like I said, I have to research catch up with me, I am so over stock (have four pack mule alts to use as extra bank space). Once the research is over with, I plan going back on questing for again.

Might as well, report a few bots and help the ESO at the same time.

By the same token, I would love it if those hitting the zone chat with guild recruitment could do so immediately after a gold seller has advertised his wares, thereby fulfilling the dual purpose of introducing their guild and scrolling the gold seller off the screen :)!

    Questions:
1.) How exactly do you "steal" something that doesn't belong to anybody?
2.) Don't you have anything better to do with your game time? Honestly if you think you're going to somehow irritate or discourage an AUTOMATED character (aka a "bot") then you're mistaken. The bot owner can run their bot 24x7x365 so unless you're willing to go without sleep/food/bathroom breaks you're not even going to make a dent in the bots overall productivity.

Personally I believe bots (along with all the other behaviors that reduce my enjoyment of the game) are ZOS's problem, I pay them to take care of said problems, if they fail to do so I'll give my money to some other company that can. When ZOS starts paying me to help solve their bot problem, I'll consider helping them.

What do people want to volunteer in reporting bugs and feed back? Because they want to make the better and help others too. Same logic in reporting gold farmers and bots, the relationship that player have with ZOS is a complex one. We want to help each other to improve that game. True, we are paying ZOS to make new content, fix bugs, etc, that does not mean that we can not help them out either. It only take a few secs to report a gold farmer.

I am sure that Gold Farmers do check on their bots and they would not like to see 100 of yell statements about their bot char being a bot and the account to be reported. If they see that, they will know that char's account days are very number before the ban hammer.

I am waiting for my research to be done so that I can reduce my stuck in my bank and pack mules alts. I will be farming anyways, might as well take it away from bots.

ESO is the player's game! ZOS and the players need to work with each to combat the Gold Farmer war. I do not mind to volunteer some of my time to help to solve this problem.

Another RL example, Zoo have workers to take of the animals and do activities with the paying guest of the Zoo. Some volunteer their time to do activities in the ZOO. The idea of volunteering to help others with out being paid to do so.

No it's not, I pay them to provide me entertainment they either provide it or I find some other company that will, they're no different than my phone company. The fact that some customers want to become self appointed, unpaid deputies doesn't change the fact that ZOS is just another service provider that is singularly responsible for the quality of service that their customers pay for.

Thats why I visit lowbie dungeons time to time. Just to report those parasites. Noting puts smile on my face more than seeing them drop and vanish. Granted, I know they all can't be killed off, but knowing that there are ones being banned, is good enough for me.
