As many people do, I also have this issue. The game crashes before I can create a character. Since purchase on Tuesday I have not been able to get the game to run long enough to even create a character, let alone actually playing it.
I ensured that all Windows Updates were applied, DirectX is current, have tried running it as administrator, using the most recent driver for my card, then the current driver beta, windows 7 compatibility mode, I've tried SET GraphicsDriver.7 as D3D11, D3D9 and OpenGL, deleting the ShaderCache.cooked, Setting my card to high performance, editing the resolution in the UserSettings. I have also tried to repair the game install. None of these steps have made any difference in the behavior of the game.
I have attached both the Dxdiag as well as the Game Performance tool output.
