Some people are complaining that Zeni isn't giving the community specifics on how they are fighting the spammers and bots...really?

Do you really think they are going to come on these boards or make a video and announce that they are doing X by X date and also will X, and tip off the spammers so they retreat for a few days?

They are going and attacking them so their spam/bot friends wont know they are coming. Somebody on this forum said that a GM announced ingame that they were going around and banning bots. and its working I haven't received mail spam in a week, I went to a public dungeon in Ghratwood last night and didn't see any bots.

Actually, after a 24-hour reprieve, the gold spam has broken back through the filter and is now as bad as ever.

Sure Zeni improves their filter and the spammer find a way through, but in time their wont be anymore combinations for the spammers to post and it will be gone from chat

Zeni should also be focusing on those players that are actually buying the gold, because if there wasn't anyone buying from them, then why would the sellers keep making accounts to sell gold in game.

The spammers are not selling anything, they just want to get your card information so they can commit fraud.

GW2 took a few months to fight the spammers and they mostly got rid of them, it seems ESO will be able to get rid of them in a shorter timeframe if they keep up what they been doing.

I see you guys complaining about gold spammer in game but the irony part is that I'm yet to see them spamming in chat nor in my mailbox lately and I don't use the anti-spam add-on...

maybe they should make it that until lv 10 you are unable to speak in zone, or send mail. that might cut down on some not all but maybe some.

And of course since that is your experience it must be what everyone else is experiencing as well? Frankly, I have not noticed any measurable decrease in the spammers, except now I have to delete and report half a dozen mails along with the dozen or more spamming reports I make daily.

Also, I don't think anyone is asking for any details on how the are combating spamming, but I think some folks just want more than "we are working on it and banning accounts", because in my opinion what the have been doing is a less than valiant effort.

LOL..then you are either a gold seller posing, always afk when the spammers hit or never look at your chat window because the spam is there(we're not idiots). I doubt irony is playing a part here...

Ive heard others say they don't see much spam and I don't really see much of it either unless I go to the starter islands.

Yea..I don't see much either anymore since I installed a very excellent and necessary spam filter...

I actually haven't seen any in my inbox for a bit now. Also got a few public dungeons last night with no bots and 3-4 players, got our kill and loot easy then moved on. 2 out of 4 dungeons were bot-less for me.

The 2 dungeons with the bots I made sure to report every single one of them. There was 3 in one of them, and 5 in the other- and I hope they get their sorry asses banned.

Just have to give it some time, hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

Get rid of zone chat and make it so you can only whisper people or /say within a certain vicinity.
