Character Deletion, Missing Gold - Possible New Bug

This is possibly related to the shared bank/missing gold issues, but I confess I haven't read the thousands of pages on every post on the subject, so my apologies if this is a known issue.
If you decide to delete a character (or 2 in my case), sell the gear and then put the gold into the shared bank, be sure to collect the gold on another character before deleting any characters. Otherwise the gold goes poof along with the chars you delete.
However, oddly, any gear you place in the shared bank doesn't go poof. Lost just over 3K - yeah I know no a big issue - when I deleted two chars I'd gotten bored with.
I have bug reported it, but posting here as a heads up just in case it's not common knowledge.
