launcher gets stuck on "loading"

so recently i've noticed my launcher gets stuck on "loading"
if i just leave it, it might sit there for 10 minutes before it loads (cpu, ram and hard drive activity are all pretty low fom the process)
it used to just come up immediately, its installed on my SSD too.
a work around seems to right click the icon in the task bar, click close then in task manager it will come up as not responding, so i end the process there and re open it and it usually comes up a bit faster.
I've tried re installing the launcher but that doesn't seem to help.
