Sorcerer Leveling - Daedric Summoning

Hey Folks

Just a quick opinion question for you sorcerers out there: Do many of you employ the Daedric Summing skill line for leveling? And if so, how useful do you find it?

So far that is the only tree I haven't put points into. I live through most fights, killed Doshia with my healing staff, so I'm doing pretty good. But I was just curious if the rest of you enjoy using your Daedric Summoning for more effective leveling.

Currently Playing:
Sorcerer Claudia Warren May, lvl 40. Woodworking 25/Clothing 25/Provisioning 50.
Dragon Knight, lvl 8. Blacksmithing/Enchanting.
Nightblade, lvl 3. Alchemy.
Templar, lvl 7.

oh the Pets are excellent tanks, especially the Clanfear (morph from scamp) i use it loads and so does many other sorcerers, but for me thats the only thing i do have in that tree.

try it out tis only one or 2 points :)

I specialize in Daedric Summoning on my main character (With the skil line now maxed out)

I wouldn't call it effective leveling :D , but I went for both pets + bound armor ASAP, and quickly found myself taking on quests higher than my level with ease. (Basically any quest that is orange)

The big downside is that the pets + bound armor must be in BOTH skillslots, leaving very little for weaponskills.

For comparison, my current loadout looks something like this.
Skillslot#1: Weapon specific / Weapon specific / Twilight / Clannfear / Bound armor
Skillslot#2: Conjured ward / Daedric curse / Twilight / Clannfear / Bound armor

I don't use any pets from the summoner tree, however I do use the Velocious Curse (Deadric Curse morph that reduces the time for the curse to explode). It does comparable damage to Crystal Shard, but is instant cast.

For any non-elite mobs, the combination of Crystal Shard + Curse + Mage's Fury will quickly put them down.

All of my other skills are either from the remaining Sorcerer skill lines, or Destro/Resto staff. Overall, I really like the set up so far - lots of damage potential with the survivability of Resto staff.

I use the summoning pets quite often. I'm going for an in you face battle mage style build and having a pet tank helps out a lot. Especially in those instances where I've bitten off more than I can chew.

I do have a question though. If I have my summons on one load out, summon them, and then switch to weapons (thereby changing my loadout) will the summons go away if they are not slotted on that load out?

The pets are not terrible, make for great fodder while leveling for sure. On my Spellblade sorc I morphed into Clannfear, but sometimes I wish I had invested into Volatile Familiar (I can see the stun on death being a lifesaver at times, though I really do not die all that often either). As for my sorc healer (which I just started, so all things relative here) there is not much from that line that I want besides the power stone passive, so I'm not using them as much. Once I get Dark Conversion/Power Surge I'll start utilizing the Volatile Familiar just to get the level ups I need for the passive.

Clannfear is quite tanky, and can trap multiple enemies
Atronauch is great help in any situation, especially boss fight
Conjured ward is very helpful, absorb 600+ point of damage in late games.
Bound armour increase your armour by 600+.

This line is really good, your life will be much easier with it. Even in late game and/or pvp, several of them are still great (atronauch, conjoured ward, for example). I don't know you wouldn't try it.

The summons will be banished if they are not slotted. Only way to keep them when swapping, is to slot them on both action bar.

I use Daedric Summoning quite frequently.

Volatile familiar is my primary AoE spell as it stuns, has a decent radius, and does high amounts of damage. It can also tank every now and then. At vet 4, it's doing about 450+ damage per explosion with crits nearing 900.

Conjured Ward I use to boost Atronach damage (I still need confirmation that it does indeed work, but whatever) by a good 30% combine that with the fact that some boss fights may require it if you want self-sustainability (hint: spindleclutch vet last boss will deal no damage to you if you use this).

Twilight I will often use in DPS fights where I'm doing nothing but spamming Crystal Fragments, might as well have something that adds anywhere from 50-75 extra DPS than a bunch of skills you won't be using.

I put one point in familiar to get exp in the tree. Then I removed the familiar from my hotbar once I could fill it with other abilities. I do find Curse and Atronach highly useful and almost always have both slotted.

At what level can you get the Clanfear? I have the Twilight and the Volatile but the new "Skills Adviser" say get the Clanfear, but it's not available for me to select under summoning.

This thread is from 2014 so it will not have any information for you.

The clanfear is the other morph if the volatile familiar, it is the weaker morph and no one should use it unless you are a 30k+ health tank. So ignore the skills advisor.
