Bind your interrupt to a key

Once you do this, When you use a skill or spell that has a long animation. Hit your interrupt key. Now you can spam your spells super fast, making pvp much easier.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but circumventing the cast time of a spell would fall under what we laypeople call an "exploit"...

It was reported in the beta. It made it into release, So i guess it is not :)

If its a "bug" they could tell us... because to me it seems just bad design, but working as intended.

Yeah, enjoy trying that argument when your account gets actioned.

Any attempt to circumvent the intended game mechanics is an exploit, and you're clearly aware that it qualifies.

If it does get action, I really won't have that many cried tears. Also, so many people are using it right now, I'm giving the poor new guys a heads up for a fighting chance.

It was reported and did not get fixed, exploit or not means nothing at this point.

In what world is circumventing cast timers considered an intended mechanic? Do you think they just had cast times for funsies?

Things like this are a grey area. In DC Universe Online many people used this animation cancelling or 'clipping' as it's become known and a tonne of players labelled it as an exploit only for the devs to turn around and say 'working as intended'. Nowadays, if you don't use clipping to max your DPS then there's a good chance that you'll get kicked from a raid for substandard DPS. In that game it doesn't count as an exploit as you only have a finite amount of power to draw from. Once you've burned it, no more clipping. In theory, the same could apply here.

The moral here is to never assume.

There you go. Intended, or exploit does not matter at this point. People are doing it, so might as well also to fight back. It is not our place to not use some thing that gives us a edge in combat. You do what you can until they fix it or not.

Just like people were duping because it gave them the edge in crafting?

    Yeah, that went swimmingly.

So do you want to ban 99% of the playerbase for using the (broken) tools they are given by the devs?

    Stop witchunting.

99% of the playerbase isn't doing this. I hadn't actually heard about the exploit until this thread.

And if something is broken, then report it. Don't encourage every other mouth-breather to exploit the broken mechanic.

Straw man says hi. You can't compare the two. One is a known exploit. The other is not.

One of them has been reported since beta. The other was not known about.

One of them does not damage the eco system <.<

Yeah because duping items and interrupting the enemy by using a skill that is broken (are we sure it is?) because they still did not fix it is the same.
    Of course.

Turning a 2.5 second cast into a 0.5 second cast damages the game system quite a bit.

Oh, and according to plenty of people in beta, the duping exploit was reported, and whatever fix went in at launch just didn't work well enough.

It's an exploit. You know it's an exploit. Stop telling people to use it and report it in-game.

    The skill is broken.
Soooo yeah how to avoid this "exploit" exactly?

    Kindly read the OP.

This is not about using the interrupt mechanic on an enemy. It's about using the interrupt mechanic to reduce your cast time. That's not what it's supposed to do.

exploit or not, unless they fix it. You should use it. In pvp for sure.

They are not going to do any actions vs you, they are not going to suspend you. There are other mmos who has a cancel system as well. Like some one said DC online. So it is not strange for it could not be a exploit.

Any way glad I could help new players at least with this info.

Don't stand in the bad stuff.

Lost count on how many times i've been in an assault on a keep and people keep standing under oil.

Move .... for the love of kittens.

See a red ring on the floor, move out of it. Something bad is going to happen and there is a chance you will die.

For you people that sneak up on keep doors to attack NPC's .... sneaking doesn't make oil burn any less.

If you are not healing or on a ram there is no need for you to be under the burny stuff.

There you go, a tip on how to be a useful member of your PvP group and stop being a free kill.

    Actually, have another....

When you see that lone enemy just stood out in the middle of the open that IS NOT your cue to attack.

That lone enemy has a small number of friends with him, he's the bait, that's an ambush party.

Oh... I had to read that a few times to comprehend. Huh... Well if it is a bug/exploit I expect it will be fixed. If not I expect to try this at some point. Right now I still am having fun just using the mouse actions for fighting and not using my bar at that much.

I know this isn't about the interrupt thing, but I hadn't heard of ambush parties before, so thanks for the tip :D.

You can circumvent almost every skill that requires cast time with that. Why not remove all cast times than, ZOS?

btw: there are at least 4 more very obvious game breaking exploits so many people know about and are using them as if they were implemented on purpose. They showed up at forums pretty often already, so I will not mention them here.

Easy enough fix, just make interrupt interrupt the cast. I'd kinda like a way to interrupt my cast anyway.
