Repair Process Freezes

As stated in my title the repair process for my launcher freezes constantly which also freezes my computer. The launcher prompts me to repair after every patch. I have been having this issue since the April 14 maintenance. I have subsequently unable to play the game since then. I have been unable to seen the error messages (if any display) as I leaving it to patch/repair while I am at work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client multiple times using both the website downloaded copy and the disk from my Imperial Edition.

After the recent patch when I entered the game, the grass textures were 'missing' and I was seeing pink squares everywhere. I shut the grass off and it went away.

I played for a while then quit. When I tried to play again later, the game wouldn't launch.

Every time I try to repair the client it stops at 4809.33 gig's remaining during a secondary Verifying process.

So, after weeks of useless troubleshooting methods I stopped trying to install the game client onto my computers hard drive and installed the game onto an external I don't get any of the god forsaken error messages and it patches smoothly. I not entirely sure what the initial cause of the malfunction was but using an external drive fixed whatever it was... Hope this might help someone else.
