Respec - How does it affect items being researched

blahgameblahb14_ESO
Basically the title says it all (asks it all). I have half a dozen points I put into skills along the way that would be better served in some craft slots. I do however have 2 or 3 items in the process of being researched with a couples days left on them.

After I respec, I intend to put points back into those crafts but will I lose the accrued time on the current researches or does it go into a 'stasis' of sorts?

TY in advance for any information.

Let me start off with; I use a craft research timer so I can constantly see how long is left on my crafts. When I place into lowering research times it instantly updates and cuts out the 5/10% so my guess would be that as soon as you respec it will update to reflect the loss of the research passive - hope that helps.

Oh let me add if you have put in a point to research a second item at once, be careful it might remove that entirely without giving you back your item, this is just an assumption so I think you might be better off waiting and testing it yourself so we all know.

You will lose the 2nd or 3rd item you are researching. Proceed with caution.

    Cheers @Azarul‌ for the confirmation.

Good to know. TY all. I think to be on the safe side I'll wait at least until the 2 with a couple days into research are done.

    Stay well all.

I decided to 'take on for the team' and test the waters. I respecced when I had one item left with roughly 1day 9 hours and 5 minutes. Immediately upon respec the item went to 2days 14 hours and a bit. After I re-chose my skills the research time dropped back to 1day 8 hours and 50 odd minutes (10 minutes or so having passed).

So it seems, for me at least, that the research went on and the time put it correctly reset itself after I reselected the passives.

I did this and had two items researching at once and it didn't delete those items when i respecced.

Wrong Azarul. The other items are not removed upon respec. Once begun, research will proceed until completion. So speccing out of the passive that increases the amount you can research will still allow you to research the 2 or 3 you have going. However, upon completion, you will not be able to research another until all complete and then it will only be the default number of 1. Also, the time remaining on the research will increase in proportion to the loss of research speed.

There really is no good reason to spec out of it completely as all your researches will take longer and then you will only be able to research one. Since respecs are quite costly, this is not useful as an exploit as there will be a long time between respecs for most players. If you respec and put the points right back into the passive, nothing is lost. Progress bar remains as it was. Items are not deleted.
