Finding Motif Books after you have learned them

Hi guys,

quick question. Anyone else having the experience that once you have learned a motif book, they don't drop any more? Over the course of my leveling I have found a couple of books once in a while and kept them in the bank because I didnt know if I will have the crafters on one character or on "alts".

Later on, I then have learned them with my main, having all 3 armor/weapon crafting professions at lvl 50.

But now, I have the issue that I do not - at all - find any motif books any more. Sometimes, opening a Nightstand etc. just doesn't give me anything (not the empty ones, but the ones that you CAN loot). No loot comes out. I'm wondering if that may be because I have learned the motif books and every time that happens a book would be in there?

IF that was the case, that would SERIOUSLY suck, because it only further promotes the goldfarmers to farm them and then sell them for ingame gold.

I've found several motif books after learning the motif. The drops are just very random.

You can get repeat motifs many, many times.

Same here I've got all the normal non Vet drop motif books scribed and i have another full set of them in the bank. Some of them I have multiples on. Its very random.

Actually the first one I found was Breton, I learned it and the next two after that I found was Breton also.

Think you just got hit with some bad RNG. I've honestly almost started vendoring them out of pure laziness (and for inventory space). I always check for them whenever I switch to a banker character, and they tend to just pile up.

Motifs 1-9 dropped for my character, learnt them and they drop like hotcakes for me.....

Maybe i am just lucky, but i gave away 6 motifs to two friends and sold 4-5 to players in game and another 4-5 in the guild store.

I sell them for 1K, cheaper much much cheaper than the usual 1,300-1,500 gold most players sell. Because i dont need them, friends dont need them and i want to help out.

The last 4 Motifs (Imperial, Barbaric, Primal and Daedric) have not dropped for my character...those go for min 30k and i have seen 250K asking price for Daedric in the chat.

Honestly, with how they look, i would not pay more than 1.5-2K for any of those books, they are not "all that", go google some shots of how they look.

Asking 250k for Daedric? Report that Player, some doctor should really run a thorough check on his sanity... so Zenimax can alert local authorities about him

I agree with you, the Styles are just bad... Weapons look halfway decent, but the armor? Just NO!

Barbarian Medium looks nice, ugly helmet but you can hide it so....maybe Barbaric....

Why rush you'll get them in time.

I've picked up books after I've learn't the motif. My only slight annoyance with Motifs is that if you can't remember if you have one, unless you look at crafting its not stored anywhere. Lore Library would be good.
