Provisioning Recipe Question

Merry Monday ESO Friends!

A quick question about provisioning recipes: when can I expect to start seeing new recipes drop from boxes/desks/people's pockets/etc?

Just curious. My main is only level 11, but I have my provisioning up to 29. I just started seeing new ingredients dropping (like molasses and many berries) as I moved into the middle-upper area of Glenumbra.

 Thanks!

    Hi Claudia,

It seems like I started to notice new recipes every 5 player levels.

Where the ingredients, I started to notice once my player level increased in the same map AND also when moving to the next major map area.

I may still find level 1 through 10 recipes in the first zone or level 15-25 recipes in the second zone once I've out leveled a zone. I may be misremembering as well, but that's the way it seemed like.

I started to pick up some blue-quality recipes in early Stormhaven, but I ~think~ I also got some blue-quality (level 15) recipes in the Daggerfall BANK. Of course, my provisioner hit max skill 50 using level 5 green quality recipes I looted early on. Tedious? Yes, yes it was. But, still, she's DONE, now. I can spend skill points to allow her to do more, as she gets the skill points (level 10 character)... but I don't have to wait to get the skill raised (unlike every other craft, most particularly Enchanting *cough*). ;)

In short, I dunno if finding recipes of a given level depends on YOUR level, or the level of the area you're in, or if it even matters. In Early Access, I looted a Veteran-Rank-5 recipe, although I think I read a post that THAT kind of advanced recipe dropping in the newbie area was a mistake.

Thanks guys  I should probably be seeing some new recipes soon then.

And @Sorpaijen_ESO I could totally get to 50 on the recipes I have, for sure lol. I just like making new foods! (And finding a use for molasses)

My most prized recipe --- for which I have neither the skill nor the ingredients --- is SWEETROLL. :D

Oh yeah, at launch, the Daggerfall bank would occasionally mess up (amongst other banks) and award VR recipes like the infamous Sweet Roll. I haven't tried raiding the bank for a while, but I wonder if folks can still find those in non-VR land.

The drop tables for provisioning recipes were broken during EA and veteran ranked recipes were dropping for everyone, everywhere.

I'd also like to point out that people in this thread seem to be mixing up recipe level and rarity. Just like other crafting skills, recipe level and the color of the recipe name are two different things - the color denotes rarity. Usually more rare recipes use more ingredients and provide better buffs versus less rare recipes at the same level.

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

I'm just looking for increased recipe "level" and variety, so I can use up some of the new food I've been hoarding.

When you get to Wayrest, take the boat across the bay and back. With Provisioning in the 20's I got new recipes in both areas. And that plantation by Wayrest had an Enriched recipe that I use all the time for my char now b/c it helps two stats at once. Was glad to get that one!

Oh awesome, thank you! I haven't quite made it up there (keep getting distracted by random quests in far off corners), but now I may swing up there real quick just to try that out.

drops for recipes are complete garbage...I was getting low level recipes throughout all content...of course I got higher level ones as well, but I could go through a portion of higher level content area and loot the same crappy green recipe like 6 times. Now I'm in veteran content and I get recipe drops equivalent to that of the starting areas...so crap. Fix provisioning drops!

For what seemed like a long time I had nothing but level one andlevel 5 recipes. Then about the time I hit level 15 or so my recipes went to level 10, 20, and 25. Once I hit those recipes it took no time at all to max out provisioning.

Did I do anything weird to gain those recipes?

Actually no. I kept looting the same cabinets and chests in the starter area. Eventually I gained those and 9 of the 10 normal crafting motifs.

I found that you start getting new ingredients at level 10 and therecipes for them at level 12. Then you will get the next tier ofingredients when you change areas around level 15 and recipes for those at level 16.
