the MM in this mmo is breaking every major game aspect

it seems concerns regarding an eso mmo was justified - its really not the devs fault (well they should have kinda seen it comming) - its really just the community and amount of people that is ruining the major aspects of the game:

- all the people running around in and zerging the quest zones/enemies kills any immersion in the story

- all the people and bots basically ruin any public dungeon experience - no dungeon delving, no immersion - just a zerg fest

- all the people that zerg the dark anchors even ruin that - if you dont camp dark anchors or are very close and drop everything once they come up, theres no way in hell to participate - i hardly managed to get them all done in the first zone. They usually get insta zerged down in half a minute...

so to me it seems the amount of people and the community is the major problem right now...of course you can try finding all kind of fixes for this BUT - wouldnt it be easier to

- make a lot more shards/phasing - e.g. have way less players in the same instance? Maybe only allow to "draw" from the whole player pool for the group dungeons?

I don't think that eso devs thought it would be as big as it is... maybe this megaserver guinea pig is a bust and multiple servers are needed. I give them props for trying though!

Even with all of those problems you mention I still love this mmo... it is what I have been waiting for... even now I have no desire to play any other mmos despite all the fixes that are needed.

I imagine you are going to get some arguments about that. If the world isn't choked full of people, you'll have folks complaining that they are playing a MMO and it's lonely. I have a personal concern about anyone who complains about being lonely in a video game, just because a zone doesn't have 50-100 running around, but that's probably just me.

To you point, I do agree that a good chunk of the immersion is lost when I roll into a dungeon and everything is dead for the first half. At the same time, some of the tougher dungeons with the 5-6 mobs per pack, you are definitely happy when 2-3 more people come running along.

I imagine in 3-6 months from now, we'll see the opposite complaints in that there is no one around to do dungeons, world bosses and anchors with. Everyone will be max level and new players and alts will be few and far between.

On a positive note, I find the Veteran ranks have been pretty good thus far. At VR3, I don't find zones overly crowded, I even find some dungeons are pretty empty. Kinda wish I was up at the VR6-7 level, I imagine that's where the real immersion would be available
