Turned off zone chat, stayed out of farming dungeons and voila! the game was marv again

So for weeks I spent a good portion of my day, ignoring / reporting botters/spammers (which now includes those annoying trade spammers as well) to the point that the game was losing its fun.

Decided to just adventure, stay out of farmed dungeons, made a chat window to exclude zone and bam! I was back in beta days of glorious fun. When I was ready, I put zone back on to find a group and immediately turned it off again.

Just thought I would put this out there for anyone who is finding the cheaters/ botters/spammers ruining their game time, its an obvious fix but sometimes one hangs onto an ideal like zone chat being full of good info, or qstns you can help with etc and not the cluttered mess it really is now. wish they would put in trade and social zone

Now if I can only get rid of the mail spammers who send one of my toons 4mails a day regardless how many times I report them. and yah, they got my 'address' by me accepting by accident a random friend request. None of my other chars have the spam, as they have never joined a guild, accepted friend req or spammed chat. so think twice before accepting

Sheesh. I've been doing this since the first days of early access.

There are not enough public dungeons in this world to hold my attention for very long, I rarely have need to be in them except for skyshards. I go in, get my Achievement and my skyshard (where available) and am gone. No fuss.

Honestly, the people who write stuff in Zone chat, no matter what they say, are not that interesting. I have never felt I am missing anything by turning off Zone chat.

I used to be able to get some good info there when people were being helpful, I tried to do the same for others if I had the answer they needed. but now its full of spammers, sometimes nasty talk or stuff not related to the game. its hard to catch the true questions/advice etc. and yeah, I was slow
