Im stuck at lvl 3 soul magic. .I always have the soul thing skill in my hotbar, but still its not leveling?
How do you level soul magic? Anyone knows? The ultimate look badass!

    That has been what I was always told, yet I have two different DE Sorcs on different factions whose Soul Magic has leveled at two completly different speeds.

    My lvl 19 Sorc on EP has used SM a good many times & has advanced the Main story quite aways, yet his SM skill is only 1/2 way through rank 1.

    My lvl 12 Sorc on AD has used SM a total of 4x & has only completed one of the Main story quests, yet his SM has adanced enough to Transform & his Rank is 3.

    No consistency.

    In my experience, Soul Magic has leveled as its own individual skill. I have a number of the passive bonuses and already morphed the primary ability. I have noticed a drop in its leveling rate, but that might be more due to the fact that I don't keep it on my primary skill bar as much anymore. I also think the act of filling soul gems may have something to do with this. Try keeping more empty soul gems in your inventory while making use of the skill and see if that helps to bring the experience rate back to something acceptable. (I also need to purchase more gems >_>).

    I am currently level 44 on my sorcerer an have used soul magic since I was around level 4 but I have been stuck at rank 4 for soul magic for about 20 levels and I have done all the main quests that have come available to me up to getting the amulet but still I am stuck at rank for soul magic.
    The tool tip says that soul magic is increased by completing chapters in the main quest and I have been doing them so I have no clue why I am still stuck at 4

    because Soul magic ult is fairly OP, it has no broken mechanic, but damage it does to a single target is close to enough for 1 shot an enemy. Therefore you should not acquire it till level 50. I have the ult, i use it to level for my ranged weapon and it rocks on single targets.

    Same problem - I got it to level 4 and it hasn't budged by one single pixel beyond that, no matter how often I use it or how many story quests I do. :(

    Have not seen anything else since May in this thread. Any idea how to level the Soul Magic up that has been confirmed?

    It levels each time you complete a quest from the Prophet... it is tied directly to the main quest line.

    The actual skills level from being slotted, though.

    completing the main story line as already talked about

    killing molag bal is lvl 6

    When you hover over the Soul Magic level bar it indicate 0/10, but it has stopped advancing at level 6. Is level six the maximum achievable level?

    I haven't leveled this very far yet, but any of you getting stuck at 4 - did you keep Soul Trap slotted in your 5 actions (that you can use in combat) the whole time or at least most of the time? If not, maybe it can't progress because of that.

    I personally never have it on pass lvl 5 or so, the only reason to use that skill is to fill your empty soulgems

    This post is a year old. This was a bug on PC at release. Don't necropost. Finding up-to-date information here is confusing enough already.

    the information in this thread is valid. People just didnt know how to level it when it got released, thinking it was the same with other skills.

    The soul magic skill line is bound to the main quest line harborage, everytime u finish 1 of them your soul magic gets one skill, where killing molag bal is the 6th and final to get soul assault ultimate

    The information might be valid, but if you read the posts, this thread is quite specifically about a bug that was fixed more than a year ago. People shouldn't have to figure out which information in this thread is valid and which is outdated to get answers, especially since the people who need to know it won't know that most of this thread no longer applies.

    Hence "don't necropost." Check dates on threads before commenting so that people using the forum's search function can find relevant results. The person who necro'd this was asking someone for details about something that happened more than 11 months ago. That is not a good reason to revive a bugsplat.

    Most people get here from a google search, not a forum search. And this thread was the #1 result from my Google Search.

    What you say makes sense, but in that case, the forum should automatically move old threads to an Archive section of the forum that is blocked from Googlebot and other Search Engine Crawlers by a robots.txt.

    yes, i know. but i already completed all those quests and it got stuck in lvl 6. the weird thing is that it doesn't seem to have a reason for leveling more, but the game states that the maximum level should be 10, and the yellow leveling bar is empty, unlike all the other complete skills.

    this post is over a year old so it will get locked, they dont like necromacing here just so you know

    but the skill line only progresses as far as 6 all skills & passives are unlocked by this point, everyone has an empty bar, no idea where you got the figure of 10 from.

    maybe it was 10 originally or there are plans to expand the quest at some point but yes, every one gets to 6 and then has an empty bar ;)

    I know this is a very old thread, but I was searching for how to level up to get Soul Assault. I figure it will be a good slot for my new Magplar. My first toon has Soul Assault, but really never looked into it and didn't really know how the hell that toon got it. Now, it makes sense. However, there should be another way to level up Soul Magic then to do the main story. Once was enough for me. Ha ha. Make this also leveling like Fighter/Mage/Undaunted dailies or something.

    Not OP. In fact it can be useful in the right build but is far from OP
