Regarding "elemental damage"

I saw that certain item is unresistable damage. Does that means that it cannot be resisted? If so, wouldnt that be the most superior form of "extra" damage compared to fire, electric, ice etc? then what is the purpose of having elemental damage when unresistable damage cannot be resisted and is clearly superior than all.

The unresistable damage enchantment usually has less damage than the raw elemental damage types like fire or poison or frost, so on and so forth. It will do more damage against enemies that have very high spell resist, but much less damage against unprotected enemies than you'd get out of another enchantment type.
