Helmets...Yuck.

I know there have been a few threads about the lack of armor detail and how they are simply painted on our characters with no real thickness. While I agree with the thickness, I actually believe the armor looks fairly decent...especially for an MMO.

However, I was just scrolling through pictures of different armor styles and I must say...for the most part, helmets look really, really bad.

I normally play with my helmet hidden anyways because my Khajit looks like a total bad ass...but also because the helmets look like crap...ESPECIALLY medium armor helmets. I play a nightblade and I would love a sneaky assassin type helmet but so far the ones I've found just look ugly.

Anyone else feel this way, or has anyone actually found some cool looking helmets?

Note: A few helmets do look pretty cool, especially heavy armor wood elf with the bone horns.

I like the light armor Khajiit helms in the jute range, but that's just because I like running around killing things looking like Catwoman. :p Sadly, the heavy armor Khajiit helms in that same level range just look ridiculous. Haven't made steel Khajiit yet to see if it's any better.
I have just told you more than I know.

I have a particular dislike for heavy argonian helmets that look like you are wearing glorified cookwear on your head that doens't actually fit. However for beast races I find any helmet with an open face usually wont look too horrible, but my khajiit is a sorcerer in half plate half coth, i just wear a hood.

I also do nightblade with a lot of sneaking (all medium armor). Medium helmets do not look good in my opinion but I just wear a light hood and it actually looks great, while only sacrificing a small amount of stats.

Altmer style (level 28 Medium Leather) and Dumner style (Level 32 Medium Leather) full sets look awesome to me. The Altmer, in this range at least, have fully face covered small twin winged helms and the Dunmer have this almost centurion vibe. I love em. Redguard has been the most disappointing so far, but that was in the 16-24 Hide range. I think part of the progression was to have earlier material sets look less impressive to give us the wow as our gear starts to advance.

I also thought that too until I crafted a full set of medium Imperial armor for level 50, V1, and V2...and they all look the exact same. All with the same horrible brownish color.

I do like the light armor Khajiit helms for pretty much that same reason. Gotta disagree somewhat on the heavy helms though. The early tier ones aren't that great, but the later stuff looks like something a samurai would wear.

Can't say I care for the medium Khajiit helms though.
