Suggestion: "Reinforce" Armor or Weapons

I would love an options to take low level gear and "Reinforce" it to higher levels.

Example:
So i would craft an Level 1 Argonian Chest Plate then "reinforce" using the appropriate material for VR1, I would also a need a second trait stone if a trait was applied to the level 1.

This would also need some limitations, like you cannot "reinforce" an item that has already been equipped and used by a player to keep the economy sane and the crafter useful. But would also need to be viable on unique looking items that are bound when you pick em up.

This is just to promote customization diversity at high level.

Please post any other suggestion concerning this idea i will try adding em to this post if I find it pertinent! :)

EDIT: A solution like this would add 45 different armor/weapon models to every slot to the already 15 available at VR10 through crafting.

This one is not getting the point of this proposed change.

It would just add an extra level of complexity to crafting system and why would you want to reinforce low level gear anyway?

OK, let's say they've introduced this change then logically for upgrading gear from level 2 (i don't think you can craft level 1 gear) to VR1 you'll need 49 special reinforcing 'tempers'. Are you willing to farm 49*7=343 tempers to 'reinforce' a whole armor set?

Or are you suggesting that reinforcing can be done only to VR levels? In that case why would you consider other levels as not being good enough?

How will this promote customization? You'll be upgrading a gear piece while keeping all its traits and just basically increasing its level. How is it more customized?

Is it possible that this one is observing the case of someone who's got to the cap very quickly and now is bored and has nothing to do?

There are different models by tiers, or some tiers, each style has at least 3-4 different models. So level 1-14 (iron) will not look like level 26-34 item (ori ...i think).

    So the process would go:
1 - Craft a white item level 1-14 item for x iron, style stone, trait stone.
2 - Reinforce that white item to level 34 for x ori, style stone, trait stone (same has above)
3 - Upgrade that item to whatever quality

Oh and most of the models change is all very low.
Like for Heavy Armor Breton style the model is different for Iron, Steel, Orichalcum and Dwarwen. After Dwarwen the model stays the same up to VR10. Seem to be the same pattern for every craftable item in game.

Lol ok, no one is interested in having access to 45 more models for weapons and each armor slots once you have reached the dwarven model, which is the same for every weapon/armor style up to VR10?

    Seriously?

That would allow me to use the set Silks of the Sun on my Dunmer DK.
I like the idea of givin MOAR fire power to my Dunmer DK. I like it a lot.
I'm not sure if it wouldn't affect balance, though...
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I think overall the idea is excellent but to simplify it maybe offering the choice of look during the crafting part. Without having to add more complexity when it might not be wanted.

True a simple drop down menu would do for this as there only 4 models for each. It can get messy when the drop down menu get to 10-20.

    Thanks great feedback!
