Skill Point Refunds for Significant System Changes

I would like to ask that when significant system changes are made affecting aspects of the game where players make a choice and dedicate resources, that the skill points be refunded so the player has the option to re-evaluate whether they still want that ability/feature in it's new form.

I chose the word "significant" carefully. I didn't use major or game changing. I don't think a change needs to be "major" to warrant a refund. Significant would be sufficient.

The change I'm referring to primarily here is the nerf to hirelings. I was hesitant to potentially waste a skill point in the Hireling skill because I didn't know if it would be useful enough to take away that skill point from some other ability. I decided I would try it out, so I put 1 point in my Clothier Hireling ability. After a few days I decided that the materials I was receiving were worth the point investment, so I went ahead and invested a point for Smithing, Woodworking, and Enchanting. Now that the system has been nerfed, I would rather have those points back to put into something more useful, but the points were not refunded.

Now I understand that the skill may be useful at higher levels... and maybe that's what it was intended for. I will probably invest more points into the skill when I reach a higher level. However, right now my highest level character is level 17. It sounds like it is the lower level characters that were most affected by the change.

Had the system originally been what it is now, I never would have invested those additional points in Smithing, Woodworking, and Enchanting after testing it with Clothier.

To put this into terms that might be easier to understand.... it's like I bought a Superior model of a car and the company later decided to swap that out for the Economy version of the vehicle without refunding any of my money. Or like I bought a 1st class airplane ticket and the airline decided to downgrade my ticket to coach without providing a refund.

Yes, this is just a game, I understand that. However, it's a matter of customer satisfaction... and I'm not satisfied.
