What's Contra Sanctus all about?
Contra Sanctus is a community/hard working guild that has put it's roots down in games like SW:TOR, GW2 and Wildstar! We've been around for the past two years so you'll find that a lot of the players know each other. Our goal is to make ESO a fun experience for all the players in Contra Sanctus and we are willing to everything it takes to complete content, win wars against Molag Bal/Dominion/Covenant.
Here is a little excerpt from my friend Phunkadelic that was changed to fit the parameters of ESO, so here is our mission statement:
Contra Sanctus intends to become a top performing guild that affords its members the opportunity to fully experience all premier ESO content through teamwork and effort while maintaining a friendly, helpful guild environment that fosters high morale, engages quality players, and maximizes their potential.
That's Contra Sanctus in a nutshell.
1 - "Your guild must have a reachable promise to its members, or a purpose for the guild" (aka "what")
"Top performing guild" is the reachable promise, which, although may not be within sight at the time, is definitely achievable and maintainable. The guild's purpose is "to fully experience all premier ESO content".
2 - "...the tool, or how you go about getting your promise fulfilled. This is not only the guild, but also how the guild is formed and organized" (aka "how")
The tool, or method in which we will fulfill that promise is the guild itself, and the guild's esprit de corps, or "state of the union", per se. If all guild members truly embrace the ideologies in our mission statement then our common objective will be met "through teamwork and effort while maintaining a friendly, helpful guild environment..." There are some key words that I'm going to place emphasis on: teamwork, effort, friendly, and helpful - Having guild mates that demonstrate those qualities is what helps make a good guild become a great one.
3 - "The bargain is what you expect of your guild and what does your guild expect of you" (aka "standards" or "rules")
When guild members are enjoying themselves and the community of their guild, the last portion of the mission statement will be achieved: "...that fosters high morale, engages quality players, and maximizes their potential." Now we've got basic guidelines established and published, which is what we expect of our members. The guild leadership also understands what the guild expects of them:
- plan (schedule events according to what goals we are trying to achieve: raids/dungeons/pvp/STRONG FUN COMMUNITY)
- organize (break events into manageable sections)
- jobs (raid leader, party lead, battlefield commander, helper buddies)
- ask people to move from party to party to increase guild cohesion
- rotate responsibilities to give others experience at leading events
- coordinate (research how to achieve goals, ie strategies, talent builds, group builds, etc.)
- control (direct people to do what they're supposed to do)
- only to the degree necessary!!!
- establish standards, measure performance, compare performance to standards, evaluate individuals and take action (have rules, help people improve their performance, keep the good attitudes, get rid of the bad attitudes)
- lead (ties the fore mentioned together, guild leadership has to lead the way, support the guild members and each other)
There you have it! That's Contra Sanctus. Please don't be mislead by the way things are said or put out there. Often times people don't know what they're getting into when they join a guild, or if the guild's going to be worth getting into to begin with. The reason this info's up is to provide evidence that we do, in fact, have a pretty good idea of what we're doin'
.
We're really lookin' forward to playin' ESO with players that are skilled and have good attitudes. If you've got any questions about us at all, feel free to ask!
