Melee sorc vampire with no weapon specific heals and struggling with a certain boss fight. Spoilers

So far I've solo'd my whole way to level 50, my storm atronach got me far, that is until this... Very specific spoiler-filled fight.

Okay so I am fighting Molag Bal... And I can't use Midnight Drain my primary trump card, to heal myself, if I use Dark Exchange it drains my stamina, which makes me unable to defend myself very well from his attacks, and it takes away my ability to dodge as well.

I don't have Undeath yet, and I don't have Unnatural Resistance yet, and I can't morph my mist ability yet, and I won't be able to morph the bat ability to devouring swarm for a while, cause I just hit 50. My healing staff skill is only at 1, as I never used it, I never though It'd be important to solo anything.

I've since equipped a ring to give me about 1600 spell resist, and regeared to have 1700 health+1700 magicka, rather than 1850 magicka and 1400 health like I did previously, although I'm still not sure if that can save me. I suppose this all puts me in the category, of being super disadvantaged in this fight.

Will Conjured Ward significantly help me with this fight? What about Fighters guild abilities, will they make this specifically hard battle easier?

The main problem I seem to be having, is that I just have no way to heal myself without Dark Exchange, and the enemies are seemingly immune to Midnight Drain, leaving me in a situation, where I just keep getting outlasted.

You won't be doing that melee though.

Short version: feed down to stage 1, don't use any vampire ability in action bars, use 1 pet, kite him and use damage over time spells to do it and more importantly fight Molag down on the stairs until he summons the drakes and then kill them one by one or too much fire dmg will kill you.

Thanks so much for that link.... This fight can be ridiculous for melee vampires, and there's not even the option of having a healer nearby to make up for that weakness either.

I think I'm just gonna use a clannfear, Velocious Curse, Bolt Escape, a low cost restoration staff instant cast heal, and that Dark Exchange ability. Under ordinary circumstances, I'm devoted to being that melee, battle charging, self healing sorcerer, but these are no ordinary circumstances.

I did this fight with a stage 4 vampire with sword and shield , so melee as well , i had Critical surge for healing and it did the job , even though i am magicka oriented, so no crit boost to melee attacks , if your doing the fight with a stamina build i am sure you have some crit stuff , so you will heal more often than i did , just stay behind him as much as possible , and block attacks , since sometime i noticed that some blocked attacks heal me as well ( although it might have been some delay from surge since i had a bit of lag at times , not sure )
