DISCLAIMER: There is no other forum to put this discussion so here it is...

We are told all the time that this game is all about freedom of choice for the players, but there is one giant thing that has been bothering me about this game since I played it during beta and I have NO CHOICE, but to "get over it".

NO CHAT BUBBLES... Why in the world can we not just have THE CHOICE to turn chat bubbles on/off?? A very few couple people think for some reason that it will ruin immersion, but you know what really ruins immersion? Staring at a tiny chat box full of 100s of people trying to talk at the same time to see what your friend is saying that is standing right next to you. If you still think it ruins immersion TURN THE BUBBLES OFF, but don't make it so no one can have chat bubbles... this is ridiculous.

Besides the chat bubble issue this game is fantastic, but I seriously can't have a single discussion with anyone because it is just too difficult. Most of the time I have to chase down a person for 10 minutes before they even know I am talking to them because they are not watching their chat box...

Hi, Emperor! If you haven't already seen it, there's an ongoing petition thread here; the goal is to get Zenimax's attention about the community's strong preference for optional chat bubbles. I know exactly how you feel, especially considering that people have been pleading for optional chat bubbles since last July.

P.S. An add-on won't solve the issue. Due to API restrictions, it's impossible to create a chat bubble add-on that will target each player's position in a 3D world (appear above their heads). The only add-on that's come remotely close shows chat bubbles in rows on the upper half of your screen, which is a good temporary fix, but doesn't solve the problem. Since letting up on the API restrictions isn't an option, the only other alternative is for Zenimax to implement optional chat bubbles.

@captain, I have the simple chat bubble add-on, but as nalimoleb said, it is not a solution.

Thanks for the link, nalimoleb14_ESO. I'd love to have chat bubbles. If they do add them I hope they can have a couple options such as whether to only see party chat, or all chat near you.

Just create a new chat tab and filter out the zone chatter ...

@sirandy I know we can filter chat, but when you are standing in a town with 100 other players it is still hard to see what people are saying and who said it even with the chat box filtered to only show "/say"
