Purifying Ritual.

Purifying Ritual removes 5 negative effects for 42 base magicka, and allows all nearby players to remove all negative effects from themselves as well.

How prominent are "negative effects" in PVE though, is it worth slotting this in dungeons or in normal overland playing? I am a tank by the way, I just have one slot open and I wonder if Purifying Ritual would be the right ability to fill it.

Also, how useful would this ability be in PVP? Could it be used to get rid of the massive burn effect from siege machines?

It looks good to have, but actually having it... for PvE it can be nice for slows around level 30+

PvP... it makes me cry, and does not get rid of the burn effect from siege engines.
Still trying to figure out if it's even good to have, as people don't like to go into the radius to use "Purify".

You can ignore debuffs in PvE without too much problem. In PvP it depends, if you like ganks then it can be useful. I don't see the cleansing aspect making much of a difference in sieges.

I prefer the Extended Ritual morph because it lasts almost 2x longer. The selling point of this spell to me is Focused Healing, its HoT (which is also affected by Focused Healing) and the Purify synergy; the self-cleansing is just a bonus (which, with the way I use it, rarely comes into play).

Is the HOT even strong enough to make much of a difference? Esohead says 3 health every 2 seconds base, sounds very weak. I guess if Focused Healing to make your other heals stronger is the only selling point, then it's not something a tank should be slotting.

I guess I'll have to keep looking what to fill that open slot with, thanks for the answers people.

It's a reasonable HoT, between Mutagen and Rapid Regeneration in strength. For me at Vet 2 it's ~75 HP per tick, IIRC.

It's similar to Regeneration in that respect, very magicka efficient. That's for healers to worry about however, as a tank I'd recommend Rune Focus.
