How Im I building my character wrong? (DUEL DAGGER)

GreatPlayer

I am veteran lvl 4 and currently I am wearing lvl 3 veteran gear, but for some reason I am no longer powerful anymore, especially in lvl 4 zone. Pls help me and tell me what I am doing wrong.

Here is my build

Race :NORD,
racial skills; max out
assassination: max out
duel weild: max out
medium armor: max out

My armor is medium armor, accessories, two boost stamina, one boost health!

Duel Dagger
slot 1 ; siphoning strike (against bosses), or wirlwind (against multiply enimes but its so weak!)
slot 2: flurry, or hidden blade (good against bosses!)
slot 3: assassination blade
slot 4: teleport strike
slot 5: shadow cloak (good for running away!)

Ultimate : death stroke (also knocks the opponent down)

Those are my abilities I also badly need advice on enchantment!

what frustrate me the most is I see other players sluttering 5 NPC at once, and the most I can do is 3, I also see players taking down bosses way faster then me!

I'm not even close to VR yet, but one thing I notice is that those skills are the same ones I have on my dual-wielder. At level 17. Have you played around with the higher level skills and feats at all?

Also, dual-wielding Nightblades are not meant for AOE. We have a weak spinny skill and our Ultimates, and that's about all we have that handles more than one at a time. I HIGHLY recommend some crowd control (again, keep in mind I'm level 17 :p ). I'm fond of the second skill in the Siphoning line, because it makes one of your enemies stay put for 12 full seconds so you can concentrate on others. Very good for taking out the adds on mini-bosses first.

Sorry for double post. Meant to hit "Edit" :/

I also know a couple Nightblades that use stealth from the Shadow line as a mechanic mid-fight to handle aggro and deal higher damage.

I also love Agony or one of its morphed versions but it just feels like it takes so painfully long

We are stealthy NBs at that point we should be somewhat used to the idea that we will not be taking groups of 5 if we take on a group of 3 fast then it is nice.

    My build VR3

Shadowy Disguise gets me in the fight I open with Surprise attack +strong attack + Impale . This takes out the healer or the mage before the two others even react. The other two will be harder but I have Leching strikes which gives me some Sustain , I will use a mix of getting back into shadows, Surprise attack, normal attacks and impale. My ultimate is soul tether which is my oh crap button. I have ambush for some kind of mobility but I rarely use it . When the situation gets really bad i switch to my bow where I have Magnum shot which is amazing to get away(and to solo world bosses), I shot a few normal attacks and my mana gets back up because of leaching then switch back to melee... Conclusion NightBlades are awesome.

For equipment I go with some crit swords for some power +shadow mundus.
-get as much life as possible and get as much mana regen as you can.
-best enchant is probably unresistable damage but is very damn hard to craft.
-and of course our dream is probably getting that damned Night Mother's Gaze
    set.
-Volcanic Rune is pretty awesome for the bow tab.

find a good crafter and get allot of gear that boost your attack speed. Then use skills and morphs that have boosted attack speed.

Dual daggers only have one advantage, speed. They deal very low damage when compared to a two-handed weapon of equal level and improvement tier. So the way to use them is to stack up your attack speed and just be a jerk with it. Use allot of knock downs and stuns and just never give them a chance to fight back.

Think of it like killing some one with a thousand cuts. My level 16 night blade can some times solo kill a VR whatever because I can knock down then poke, poke, poke then stun and poke, poke, poke and dead. Oh and it helps to use weapons that deal poison or disease damage.

Now for NPC mobs, well its just not a meant for that. But what you can do is kite them a bit so long as you are at least equal level to them. Just sneak attack one with stun then hit the next with a knock down then hit another with poke poke poke and rinse lather repeat until mob is dead.

I would have to say that this is very much a sneaky type build. Also a bit of a difficult build and should not be tried by people that have little patience. Its allot of waiting and watching for the right time to hit when every thing is in your favor. When you do it right its an awesome show. When you do it wrong its an epic fail. There is no middle ground here.

EDIT* I almost forgot stack your crit when you cant stack your attack speed. If you use a powerful attack that deals allot of damage you wont get many chances to crit, i.e. two shot kill. What you want to do is 10 times that many hits in the same amount of time, and thus you now have 10 times the crit chance, so take advantage of the increase to crit and soon you will crit every time you attack.

More or less this is the chain you can go with. 1. Mirage 2.Incapacitate 3.lotus fan 4. ring of preservation 5.rapid strikes Ult. Soul Harvest
    Skills and passives.

Unfortunately that build and that approach would fail miserably after VR1 PVE. The mobs hit very very hard so you really do not have time to mess around with low dps aoe or small damage mitigation buffs because you are dead .

You want maximum single target DPS because if you kill one out of a group of 3 before they even react you have 33% damage mitigation for the rest of the fight. it's even better if the first guy to go down is a healer or some mage.. At that point you have a lot more options go into stealth and cc one of them and kill it so you remain with just one which should not be a problem this should take maybe 15 -20 sec.For bigger groups it is also possible to kill one and chaim stealth run disengage and attack again.

Also VR bosses tend to have CC immunities which makes some skills less useful .I agree however that that build is probably terribly annoying to fight in PVP.

Has Flurry been fixed then? In beta it did less damage than just spamming light attacks for the same time.

That is what I found to be a perfect allrounder build. Took me 4 or 5 skill tree resets. ;-) That one is rock solid, imho.

    http://esohead.com/calculator/skills#ccsXtgGBLK8IqRb8w2VC8GFhV8IOWe8GFSf8ijSM8Iqah8IqRb8ijQK8IOWe8Irvw8p7JMdBET6MdBvj6MdBEI6MdBvT6MdBEp8T7JMrqAi6crqLw6MrqAZ6MrqAD8t7HqsgW6MwS3c6MwYlv6MwYle6MwUlN6MwYl28g7HIsXx6qsXt6Mippo6MipL46Mippq6MippV6MipLW8C7DIzqu6Izqq6Izqa6MGFWc6MGFWi6MGFWA6MGFWn8D7Dqzdm6qzdM6MIrEf6MIsaM6MIrv36MIrEh6qzdR8F7DMIPNU6MIPAT6MIPAv6MIPAh6IzrJ8zz7pztyfm6ctyfV6ctyrG6ctyfR

[EDIT] This surelly can be optimized further. It requires a high movement skill and situation awareness. Interrupt and block is obviously essential, but you can use Shadowy Disguise instead (in case of lack of stamina). However it combines almost every max dps and loose aggro/avoid damage synergy here. Tactics should be self-explanatory. Rotation/skill usage may vary depending on situation. Generally you can go like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ulti with that. I start with bow while crouching when possible. When you get used to it, you will manage to kill things straight away while they event do not have any chance to move or see (attack) you. Hint: Shadowy Disguise and then heavy attack with bow is a blast for spamming. Forget about NB & AOE. They ain't friends.

Well its not useful so much for the damage but more for the morphed increase to attack speed for 6 seconds after the ability. A duel dagger build is all about using the attack speed. If you want damage just use dual swords with buffed attack speed and there you go same speed as unbuffed daggers but with the damage of swords.
