Hey fellow anglers!

As there is currently not much information available on the fishing achievements I thought I would begin a guide for each rare fish! Please can you add any fish you have caught and what pool it was found in, for each achievement. I will get the ball rolling!

Pyandonean Ray - Roost Angler - Ocean pool. NOTE: This is currently bugged and not triggering the achievement, will update when obtainable!

Muskie - Auridon Angler - River Pool.

    Incorrect Fish
    • Ilinalta Trout; which is listed as a fish from the Rift, was caught at the same time I caught a Sturgeon in Auridon. It also marked it off my Rift Angler list.
    • Zebra Oto; which is listed as a fish from the Rift, was caught at the same time I caught a Mudfish in Auridon. It also marked it off my Rift Angler list. And again with a Barbel, and then a Sturgeon.
    • Ice Koi; which is listed as a fish from the Rift, was caught at the same time I caught a Mudfish in Auridon. It also marked it off my Rift Angler list. And again with a Barbel.

Great guide, definantly bookmarked so I can come back to it. Fishing isn't really usefull right now, but when it becomes usefull or I want to do some achievement hunting, I'll be back. :)

Any Idea where I will catch Histcarp from Shadowfen? I try river, foul, the only lake spot do not respawn anymore and there is no ocean spot.

I haven't started fishing in Shadowfen myself yet, but an experienced angler told me he had the same problem with only one lake fishing hole in Shadowfen that didn't respawn :/Also, the Rift is bugged for fishing. All fishing holes in the Rift are of the lake water type and you can't catch any rare fish there though 4 rare fish of the Rift can be caught in Auridon's lake fishing holes: Ilinalta Trout (Blue), Zebra Oto (Green), Jarl Salmon (Green), and Ice Koi (Green).

On a brighter note, I've caught all the fish in Reaper's March (the achievement can be obtained) and here's the data I've gathered:

    REAPER'S MARCH
    Rivers:
    • Sweetfish (Green)
    • Flying fish (Green)
    • Sheepshead (Green)
    • Strid Shad (Blue)
    Lakes:
    • Brown Trout (Green)
    • Ladyfish (Green)
    • Forest Bream (Blue)
    • Preposterous Mackerel (Blue)
    Foul Water:
    • Red Gurnard (Green)
    • Brotula (Green)
    • Reaper's Eel (Green)
    • Slimeslither (Blue)

Btw, there is a thread on the Tamriel Foundry forums that is an excellent source of information for all Daggerfall zones as well as Auridon and Grahtwood:

There is finally more than one lake spot in Shadowfen. When you fish everything in one spot, another one will spawn somewhere, you have to scout the entire region to find the new spot. After you find the new spot, the previous spot do not refill and you have to explore everywhere again (3 hours on average). Actually I found 7 spot, more than 20 hours of exploration...

Be sure to have the appropriate bait (insect part), then you need to do many try. I catch some rare fish after 200 try, in average you should have one rare fish for every hole (15 try).

All information about AD fish is totally correct!
But i personally, faced a weird thing...
It is common known that "Slimeslither" is a blue fish from Foul Water in Reaper's March. And i made more than 1000 tries to catch it, got all foul water green rares 20+times, loads of sacks and white fish, but still no blue. Ofc i fish only in foul water spots (found 5 foul waters in R/M), with the right bates.
Could it be a bug, or probably smth else, because this is the last fish i need to get the Dominion Angler. Anyone had the same issue, with the last fish to complete meta achievement, or probably this is just a bad luck?

I catch Slimeslither twice today, I explain how I do it.
First here is my fishing hole map : http://imgur.com/vI3IWsS
I fish all foul water until they are all empty, I search for more and found no more hole, I continue scouting the hole I know. Exactly one hour later one hole was full again, catch Slimeslither in it.
I continue, fish everything in them (only two of them). Exactly 30 min after the last fish caught one hole full again and catch Slimeslither again in it.

Last month I put up the info we collected here onto ESOhead. Been trying to make sure i put stuff on there to help other players if they get stuck, especially if i get stuck and then figure it out. Feel free to post there too. :)

Ok, I have to ask now. It seems impossible for me to catch the last blue fish I need for the Pact Angler achievement. For me that's the Ice Remora from foul water pools (has been confirmed by other players) in Eastmarch.

After using around 700 crawlers and catching 20 Snipe Eels and 19 Modoc Suckers I still haven't caught a single Ice Remora. Now, even if the droprate for the Remora is only 1% (and it's probably higher based on the countless other blue fish I've caught in other water types in Eastmarch and other zones) the statistical probability of this happening is extremely low. So that makes me wonder...

Has anyone else had this problem? It's really driving me crazy ><

Edit: I've finally caught the Ice Remora, after more than 8 hours :)

I have been trying to finish all the fishing achievements for the Dominion to unlock the dye, but I have only caught one fish in Auridon and I am not a very good fisherman. Can anyone give me some tips on fishing and how to find the fish holes?

Grats! Quite similar for me, but I think I had a really really bad luck. I had ~1400 cast/guts before I got my last fish, Preposterous Mackerel from Reaper's March for Dominion Angler.

Stonefalls. The yellow water where you have to find the guar that got loose and put the harness on them. I caught a Stinkfish in one of those shallow ponds.

Deshaan. Heading south right before you get to the wall where you can enter Stormhold, there is water on the right of you. In the water is a small island. I caught a rare one there but forgot the name. It looks like a lake that has a river flowing into it so I am not sure what kind of water it is considered.
