Half the faction is now either werewolf or vampire? Good?

About half the Aldmeri Dominion is now either a vampire or a werewolf.

The benefits of being these immortal beings far outweigh not being one.

First there is the financial gain which is the selling of the "bite"

Other benefits are their unique tables. Werewolf is designated more towards "tankiness" while vampire is sustain with damage.

What is the downside to this? 50% fire weakness and 50% weakness to poison. This is a total joke as you can easily get fire resist through glyphs or armor or racials.

So my question to the public should the entire world become vampires and werewolf's or do we need to reign it in a bit before the entire premise of the story falls to the ground.

Give people time to adjust their builds to them most people haven't even gotten that far yet. Do I think there should be a balance in regards to them yes but it should come later when zenimax can get a better idea of how to balance the game

No. It's getting out of hand and is incredibly stupid. The whole feature should be taken out of the game, if you ask me. Is this now going to be a vampire/werewolf mmo?

Those weaknesses have huge potential to get you slaughtered in PvP, especially when you factor in the fighters guild skill line, which has skills specifically for killing undead and werewolves. As for PvE, there's a lot of enemies out there who spit fire at you. I'm not 100% certain about poison.

Even if there isn't any particularly strong poison attacks in PvE, however, in order to use virtually any werewolf advantages, you have to transform. The transformation costs a ton of ultimate, so you're not going to be using it all the time.

You mention getting resist on armor and whatnot. While this is true, it also means you need to use up those resist slots just to get yourself to normal non-infected resistance levels. You will never be able to match someone who didn't get either lycanthropy or vampirism as far as resists are concerned.

You can never get enough fire res as a vamp to mitigate all the dmg, so the weakness will always be there. Yes its a big advantage in pvp atm, and the bugs should be fixed but it shouldnt be nerfed for PVE, only pvp :)

Any good player will faceroll less skillful players regardless of any races or w/e. Also best you can do as far as resist is make it 25% instead of 50% which is still enough to get destroyed by siege weapons and DK for vamps, and anyone with a bow for ww (atleast 2 bow skills do poison damage if people arent dumb and picked them). As a vampire I both destroyed players and been slaughtered by fire or silver bolts (mostly fire, cause bolts have a distinct sound and i just block that silliness). Players who arent good can be vamp or ww and will get killed nearly instantly. See fire dot doing way 2 much damage 'vamp'! kill it with fire ! See your lethal arrow do like 1.5k damage omg spam venom arrow! = win! LTP and pvp on forums less. Every time i ran into another vamp lol my trusty fire staff worked wonders.

You want to talk OP = Soul Tree ultimate, you see that beam hit you and 9 times out of 10 all you have time to say is GG. 1 button win...

Also pve content food for thought Elden Hollow VR final boss 1 shots a vampire vr10 tank, ours had to go have vampire cured just to finish instance 1st time we ran it.

I have to give a credit to AD pack of Vampires with VR10 Night Mistress leading them (seriously VR10 10 days after the official release?).

Night Mistress - v12 Former Empress Sorcerer AD
Night Mistress II - v12 Night Blade AD

Don't forget, the ability in the Fighter's guild that lets you use Silver Bolts on Werewolves also grants the bonuses for all of the other abilities. If you have the other passives slotted you do bonus base damage and other effects to werewolves as well.

Also, not sure if it is a bug or intended, but I have heard that currently your Ultimate drains to 0 if you don't kill anything after a certain length of time (not sure the length) as a werewolf. So, you can almost never start a fight transformed, and have to build up the ultimate in every battle.

    LOL so true.

    And in response.
    1) PvP, unless you're a vamp ganker staying out of the main fray, you are going to get stomped. May even happen if you try and gank a DK. Fighters Guild is just mean.

    2) The monetary gain is going to be short lived. More Vamps/WW = More Bites. There are now WW/Vamp guilds forming and passing it for free. Seen a few pass for free just in my normal guilds. Not everyone is in it to make the coin.

    3) The only thing I see from it is another skill line to be explored, and that's from a PVE standpoint. As long as I can cure it easily I may venture it one day just to tinker....but it will be short-lived, as I already see some detrimental setbacks to my style of play.

    Best Wishes.

Becoming a vamp or were are not high on my list I may try it later but not now. I am enjoying exploring right now and will try one of those once the game becomes a little too routine.

Actually the -50% weaknesses of Vampire mean nothing. Drain Essence more than makes up for it. I'm doing much better as a Vampire than when I wasn't honestly.

Yes, it's way out of hand. It really isn't just another skill line - it's playing the game in a really advanced way. There are virtually no negatives. I think the next expansion to the game is going to have to introduce AI-controlled Sams and Deans to keep a lid on the Vamp/WW population.

The question of whether this is good or bad depends on the final outcome. Will we have:
    ESO: Underworld
    or
    ESO: Twilight

They can't remove it entirely. It is part of Elder Scrolls lore. However, they should remove it as a something the player can be. It's kind of stupid the way they have it at the moment.

What difference does it make? Who cares if a lot of people are doing it? Just play what you want to play and just look at those two as options. To me the more options the better. I don't have any intention of being either one but if it makes people enjoy the game thats fine with me.

What they could do is adjust the bonuses/penalties to make more appeal to each class.

    With Vampire consider the Penalties.
    Constant:
    • 50% Weakness to fire
    Irrelevant unless one-shotted.
Can be mitigated with Class Abilities and Enchants.

    Stage Penalties:
    • 75% Reduced Stamina and Health Regen
    Irrelevant if youre a templar.

    Stage Bonuses:
    • 60% Reduced Magicka cost to vampire abilities
    Irrelevant regardless.

    Consider the Benefits:
Life Drain: 3 Second Stun to mobs and full Health and Stamina Recovery, in addition to Granting Ultimate
Bat Swarm: Fire and Forget AoE which can be morphed to leech life, rendering any damage taken that is not a one-shot, irrelevant.
Mist Form: 75% Reduction to ALL damage (including fire) and the ability to move at up to 52% rate (Great for getaways and kiting)

    And the Passives:
Supernatural Recovery: 10% Base Magicka Recovery
Undeath: Damage Reduction when under 50% Health, up to 50% damage reduction before death

These benefits are supreme versus not having them, and there is a clear advantage over a non-vampire player.
If Fire is the only weakness, then anything that doesnt one-shot the player is trivial and can be dismissed with impunity via mitigation.

Now if the Vampire Stage effects were tuned to provide an ever increasing risk versus reward from stages 1-4; such as increased Magical Damage and reduced Fire Resist with each stage, there might be more of a reason to care about feeding and which stage of Vampirism one was at.

As of now, theres virtually no reason to care, from a min/max end-gamers perspective.

Aehm, suffering from 50% more fire damage is HUGE. Resists have only very limited effects in this game. Even if you enchant all your gear with fire resist you are still sensibly weak to fire AND you are neglecting every other stat that you could have improved. It's kind of a big deal.
On the other hand vampires have some awesome abilities to make up for it.

Because as soon as you create a skill tree with such advantages that far outweight its penalties, it isnt about playing what you want to play, and slowly becomes a must have skill tree if you want to perform whatever.

"sorry mate, no vampire, cant invite into our pvp group cos you are a gimp without Undeath passive or Mist form".

That inevitably happens in most MMOS with a streamlined class system,be it in pve or pvp, and itwill actually streamline ESO's skill system unless tweaked.

Balance it out or get rid of it (imo), even giving non ww/vampire players a skill tree unique to them that can compare to the vamp/ww tree would be just as bad because then those playes are forced to spec it in order to remain on par with vamps or wws.

You will end up with the same result, regardless.
Either people will be gimped because they dont spec/gear for <x>, or they will all be the same, rendering the "Benefit" superfluous.

    To quote Russell Edgington:
"But no, in the end, we are nothing like you! We are immortal! Why would we seek 'equal rights'? You... are not... our equals! We will eat you! After we eat your children!"

Most of the traits for Vamps/WWs are broken as you can see by the please fix it posts all other the forums. A lot of people take it, don't like it, then get cured. A lot of people are not interested in it at all. For those really into it, it's a RP thing.
