skill pts and xp in skill pts

forgive me if its already written somewhere but ive taken a good look about and am unable to answer this question.
i want to reset my skill but i wont atm as i do not know if when you reset your skills do you loose the xp in your skills or do you retain your xp in skills? just not the skill pts?

Your skill experience stays after resetting. If after resetting you decide not to unlock a certain skill that you had leveled before, the exp in this skill will still stay and once you unlock it again it will go back to what it was.
