Uppercut.

Does the Two Handed ability Uppercut do any decent damage later on? Because its base damage is really low. 13 base damage for an ability with 60 base cost AND a one second cast time, spells out a horribly weak and inefficient ability, but how is it later on?

It is the strongest melee single target ability, but the charge time can be cumbersome. Not taking into account the morphed versions of this or other melee abilities.

There are only a few PvE monsters that won't be affected by the knockback as well.

Uppercut from stealth will one shot most equal level enemies. Heavily armored enemies will still be alive but should be within range of any execute attacks you might have. It's a pretty amazing attack all in all.

don't knock on this ability lol. it's the bread, and critical charge is the butter.
You can morph uppercut so that you get a solid power bonus on the next attack, which is really nice if you have the stamina to follow up with a Critical Charge (automatic critical, good in either morphed version) and if you build right, with some bonuses to critical damage (molten weapons for dk's has a crit dmg bonus i think, so it has its uses after all) you can smash fools to dust. With just an uppercut and a charge. But the real awesomeness of this ability in pvp is that it lays someone out for 7 seconds ; a few seconds in the air, a few seconds on their back. Juicy. Not to mention the occasional giggle when you golf an enemy off the wall of a keep and they die from fall damage.

Keep in mind, you don't need it to be your primary damager; in pvp you target someone currently casting/occupied, like an siege user, or a healer. Or, if in a group melee, wait for someone to switch targets to someone more pressing, like the healer, the oilpot user, etc. and you lay them on their back with uppercut. 7 seconds of doing nothing = death in group vs group pvp. Just be wary of those sneaky nb's or dualwielders who like to hug you; they'll break your swing if they juke too far to your right or left while hugging you, making it useless in really close quarter situations. If you have another ability to hold someone in place or obsidian shards (kd) for instance, you can either go to town with uppercut, or time it so they catch the golf swing right after they get up. Most people panic after a knockdown, and they go for a heal or a quick spell, and often forget to block. Cha-ching! Uppercut connects, and they're back to whence they came from.

In PVE, its got uses, but vs bosses youll often find it's a stamina soak, while the knockdown/back effect is useless. Then again, a lot of cc's dont work on certain bosses, and that's why uppercut always has a slot on my hotbar.
Very efficient, and a good toolkit to lug around.

I guess the base damage is so low because weaponpower is much higher than spellpower. My lvl7 Templar has 28 weaponpower and 12 spellpower. I'm looking forward to seeing the combination of Wrecking Blow and Solar Barrage.
