Soul Magic Skill bugged

I think the Soul Magic skill line might be bugged. I had the skill which lets me explode and deal 50 damage when i die. That only worked in the beginning, the past week or so it didn't happen anymore 
Is anyone experiencing this as well? Or is character suddenly just too clever to use Magic???
