Paying for Vampirism

zydrateanatomy
I've seen "WTB vamp bite" scattered around, at least a couple times per gaming session.
I'm wondering how this is possible, how it works, and how much such a thing goes for?
My highest level is 21 and would love to see vampirism ingame before my allotted time. My research tells me that Vampirism is a thing that pops up in the 38-44 range and that's steep, (though mechanically logical. Don't want a bunch of level 2 vamps running around).

When a Vamp or a WW gets to level 6 they unlock Bloodmoon passive. Then the person they want to bite meets them at a shrine. (For EP it's in the rift) The vamp/ww will then bite the player who is to receive the disease and a quest will begin. From there you will get turned into one.

For selling bites, be very wary. People are scamming one another and it is very hard to trust someone. Ive seen people offer bites for 20-25k, but then take the money and run. If you have to pay for it, maybe offer half up from then half after the bite. Just be cautious if you chose to buy one.

I thought Zeni are banning people who are selling the bites?
Who has time? But if we never take time how can we ever have time?

If you are lucky enough to find a bloodfiend or werewolf in your faction's lvl 40 zone, and are hit enough times or killed by one, you will get the disease required to become one, getting bit by a player circumvents the whole looking for the npcs that are probably being killed by guilds so they can keep selling bites. After biting a player the biter will have a 1 week cooldown before they can bite again and the "victim" will have a week to finish the questline in order to receive the skill tree.

The quest will have you go to a specific spot in the lvl 40 zone (or to a quest npc first if you were not bit by a player) to kill ten lvl 42 enemies for vampire and (I think? Ive never become a werewolf) one lvl 42 elite enemy for werewolf. You will have a rough time surviving or landing hits on these enemies below 20-ish, so no there wouldn't be lvl 2 vamps or werewolves running about, they are also solo quests so you can't get help.

They should put a stop to this asap. People camping and hindering others from enjoining the game is most likely a violation of the terms of use. And paying to get something that everyone can get for free it just dumb. Zenimax need to get the message out that this is not allowed and start punishing players that wont comply.

Hmm. 20k for a bite and people are actually paying that? That would be just enough for me to get my mount.... :grinning:

The part about people taking the money and running, well those people are scum. Not sure there's really anything to be done about it though.

Only those who were saying they were selling the bite, taking the gold and then laughing and logging off. (One such player is STILL complaining in the support forums that he should not of been banned for taking someones gold)

20k is far beyond my current funding anyway.

So getting the bite, you still have to do a quest? I imagine a 38+ one, so I'd be screwed either way.

I do have Rift wayshrines, though. When I was trying to get into Cyrodiil. Physically. Because reasons.

You must do the quest regardless of how you get infected, the only difference between npc bite and player bite is when you are bitten by a player you can go directly to the quest area instead of looking for an npc to give you the quest first. I also described the quests in a little more detail a couple posts above.

Yea I noticed. What I took from this is that I'm pretty much not going to see that stuff until I'm properly leveled. 40 minimum.

    Damn.

I got given the vamp bite for a trade. They bite me, and I level it fast and bite their alt.

Well no, people can finish the vampire quest in their 20s, I had a guildie finish it today at lvl 19. The quest itself has no level requirement, I don't think any quests really do, I've explored the lvl 40 zones on lowbies before and have been able to pick up random quests.

It's actually really simple. First the vamp/ww makes the offer (usually by spamming chat, as you mention). Then you agree to the deal. You then pay them the money - and that's all there is to it.
And no, you do not get the vamp/ww bite at any point.

You forgot the part where they laugh at you for giving your gold away and log off.

If you are actually paying for a bite then you deserve to lose your money. Wait a month and there will be vamps on the corners with signs that say "Will bite for blood". Just be patient this is a self correcting problem.
What is written above are my honest opinions. If you agree then; "Great!" If you disagree; "Great!" I really couldn't care less either way.

In a month I'll likely already have the one vamp I care about as my main.

I've finished the quest today at lvl 13 as a nightblade with bow and fighter guild silver bolts. You need to kite and run around the first set of stairs, takes awhile to kill the 10 level 42 mobs but you get there. Vampire is, I can honestly say incredible.

I can't believe there are not many videos of feeding in action for the Vampire, but in a way I'm glad as it was a great surprise.

You crouch behind human npc's (as a nightblade I stealth right up to behind their back) and then you get a prompt on screen to press x.

You can also do this in pvp I believe!!!!

You lift them off the ground with a gesture (like a Sith force choke: you don't actually touch them) and then a stream of thick blood gushes from them into your mouth and all over your face which you gulp down and wipe your face occasionally in glee with the other hand.

    IT. NEVER. GETS. OLD.

The sounds and animation are great. It's not a red glowing trail like the Nightblade siphons, it's a well done stream of blood which covers your face and chest a few seconds after feeding.

It looks exactly like this: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9glexcC9D-M/UnK-AxBGA6I/AAAAAAAACGU/FtaOj2pEJIE/s1600/large_bram_stoker_dracula_blu-ray13.jpg

It's an incredible sight and I did it in front of a few players while hitting some mobs and they stopped to watch shocked. It's truly beautiful I can't stop doing it.

While feeding you can not be harmed and soon you get an ability to have them stunned after you do that, currently they have full health and are just dazed for about a second.

The first Vampire ability: "Drain Essence" with your Nightblade siphon skill used in tandem, is just pure joy. Drain essence gives you 150% health and stamina for every point of dmg this ability does using magica and it's a beast. At stage 1 i'm pretty much killing lvl 16/7 mobs at my level (13) with it, I don't even need to use a weapon.

Now imagine that at stage 2 or 3 where it costs even less magica to cast.

See these are abilities I can pull of at whim and my character permanently now looks like an evil dark elf that looks more evil the more hungry I leave him. I don't have to wait until a rage meter builds for 30 or so seconds to look like, or be, a vampire like the WW.

I constantly play as a vampire now just devouring as I go.

In contrast I have to say, for the game play value on offer here, werewolf is a poor choice compared to this. I loved the idea of Werewolf idea just as much i'm not a fan boy of Vampire or anything. It's just no where near as fun.

P.s this phobia of fire for Vamps, yeah it hurts, but the vampire abilities drain their health incredibly fast if you're stage one & replenishing your health via your abilities. Use stealth and hit hard and fire or not they die real quick. REAL quick.

I'm now tearing through mobs 4 levels above me, in packs of three.

Vampire in this game is more like the legacy of Kain games and soul Reaver from back in the day. Forget this twilight crap.

I for one am very, very, happy.

The spawns for vamp atm seem to me to be broke. So I would say if you find a decent seller at a good price, buy the bite. Has to be someone you trust though of course. I don't regret buying it at all, it's like buying rare Armour, materials, or weapons in guild trade chat etc.

Most people don't do a forum search for vampire guide, there are videos and pics all over the place.

You can also join a vamp guild and they will bite you for free.

He should not have been banned for stealing gold in a in mmorpg. We should not be forced to play rules that are made up to appease people that get or think they got ripped off in trades.

Invoking the God rule in the Tos is pathetic.

You only have to read some of the posts here to see how entitled the MMO peasantry.

Look in the guild section of this forum. Also guilds advertise around the spawn areas.

I've seen level tens waiting at spawn areas.
