I simply cannot believe it. It's the equivalent of watching an olympic team train years and years to compete at the highest level, to display an unusually high aptitude at their sport, to awe the world at their prowess, and then to smoke a faceful of crack 30 minutes before their event.
I want to enjoy the game. Please. Thank you.
Every single thread in this subforum should be about the ridiculous, and unprecedented action taken by Zenimax to functionally remove xp from dungeons.
I can't even bring myself to log in. The dungeon experience as a healer or tank is so incredibly good, and for me, MUCH more enjoyable than any other aspect of this game.
Is this temporary? Is there a reworking in progress? Please tell me I just did not waste my money. An even more maddening plea: Please tell me that this incredible game and all of the time invested into creating it was not just usurped by such a mind-numbing decision.

Cancelled today, questing has officially worn out it's welcome. I like to play mmos with friends/groups so this game is not for me.
Shame they intentionally alienate mmo players. This will come back to haunt them.

I don't understand why ZoS wants people to level exclusively via quests or AoE mob farming. There are dozens of play styles but they force people to play their way. In most games I play alts. I can't even stomach the thought in this game.
If people want to level via dungeons, pvp, or some other similar method, I don't see why ZoS can't let them.

I'm sure you've thought of leveling alts in different alliances - may I ask why you haven't carried through?
I also 'suffer' from altitis and really, really, really don't want to repeat all the quests I just ran through in the alliance I chose. So I'm thinking to level an alt in another alliance - your thoughts?
I'm kinda disappointed about this. Half the fun of making an alt is experiencing another factions content. Plus, going through lowbie zones of other factions doesn't seem like "veteran" content, no matter how buffed up mobs are. I would've preferred it if they left the cap at 50 until they had an entirely new veteran area ready. This seems like a last minute addition to give us something to do until they add some actual "end-game" stuff.I don't understand why ZoS wants people to level exclusively via quests or AoE mob farming. If you do that you will have to do the same quests with your main character after you reach 50. Because the only way to level your character post 50 is to do other quests for other aliance.
I was completely unaware of this ... this .. TRAGIC decision on their part. I am actually in shock ... I love this damn game and this is game shattering! Great, now I am going to obsess over this all day .... wondering if maybe I chose poorly .. maybe should have held out for wildstar. /cutself

I had the same reaction. You are not alone.

From a financial aspect its suicidal to alienate potential customers. There's 5 types of gamers really. The quest/story lovers, the dungeon crawlers/raiders, PvPer's, crafters, and socializers. The first 3 paths should all be viable to get to max level with since there's risk versus reward for active game play. Socializers and crafters are more city bound and we know there's nothing to kill in town with your lute or alchemy bench. To not allow players to level to 50 in the style that they chose will make them quit and you'll lose the income from them. Then their friends will follow behind since friends enjoy doing things together. Butterfly effect engage.....
