Fishing?

I'm a bit of a crafting completionist, so I was wondering: Is fishing worthwhile at the moment? I know that it doesn't supply provisioning (which seems silly), but can you get anything useful from it other than achievement fishes?

Besides the small coins, achevemt and title that is all

I've only tried very little fishing (we're talking 15 min in total maybe), and from what I've seen... UTTERLY useless. Mostly you're pulling up crap fish that can't be used for anything, used bait and crap fish that can be used as bait. There's literally no incentive whatsoever to do any fishing unless you're an achievement completionist, or at least that is how I see it. I think I've heard people say you can get equipments from fishing but... It's mindnumbingly boring, timeconsuming and mostly renders in pure crap. So yeah, not worth it, is my opinion. It's like they just added it "on-the-side" for people who actually like fishing, but not involving it in the game at all.

When using the right bait type for that water type, the change of getting rares is a lot higher. You can get 'bags' which contain rare crafting materials and for me was the easiest way to get legendary templars

until they implement fish as food,
    Fishing is a useless pursuit.

of course there are people who fish for the love of fishing.
I remember Stargate...where O'Neil talking to Tilc' said:
"It is all about fishing and not to catch fish."

It appears that someone at Z-Max watched that episode of Stargate.

Fishing requires a MASSIVE amount of patience to find any use from it, but it is possible. There are chances for rare items and crafting materials if fishing in just the right spot with just the right bait, or fishing the same general area for a really long time with lesser bait. If the fish themselves are ever made useful for crafting, or if anything is ever done with achievement points, it very well might pay off later.

As it stands right now, fishing is only a benefit to those who enjoy it enough to spend endless hours on it trying to catch the really rare stuff. For anyone else, don't bother. There's no good way to just "casually" fish. The time you spend won't reap enough rewards to be worth it. You have to seriously focus on it, almost exclusively, to get any of the good stuff.

Hopefully, as time goes on, they will add some more versatility and usefulness to fishing. After all, the game is only a couple of weeks old. Until then, I don't bother with it.

Just my opinion and experience of course.

    Have a nice day. :)

Does anyone have a link to which Bait is the correct bait for the right water to increase chance of catching rare fish or crafting materials?

Thanks for all the input guys, I really appreciate it! Guess for now it's one of those "half awake moments" time spenders with small possible rewards

    @ClaudiaMay

For fishing actually this is simple

There is no loves for fishers

    1) You won't be able to complete the Stros Mkay achievement, in fact, the rare drops, but does not unlock the achievement

    2) Stormhaven, Lake and Ocean spots shares the same blue rare fish, and so on, you won't be able to complete the achievement as of writing

    3) There is clearly a lack of worms into the game, when you can get Guts, Crawlers, and Insect at a 100% droprate, Worms are down to 10% droprate, after a full day of farming you can barely make a stack of 20, ultimately boring baits to farm

    4) All the green and blue fish does not stay in the inventory, you cannot sell any rare fish, only the white fish are currently sellable

    5) No use of the white fishes except selling to vendor

Yes there is really no love for fishers and no fishing is not worth it.
