Beginning armor

Just to be sure I'm not missing something -- it makes sense to wear full plate armor at the beginning (before you put points into armor) right? More protection and no bonuses....

Correct, there is no downside to heavy armor if you're not putting any points into any passives.

The only thing is if you intend to have passives in a different type later, you'll want to wear that type to skill it up.

oh - you're right. I should mix my armor to level them as I want in the future.... guess i'll go deconstruct... Thanks!

Yep, mixing it the best way to go in the beginning. Besides, if you wear 5 heavy and a light and medium, you are going to be overcharging or close to it, your armor.
