How Does Time Work In ESO?

How does time work in ESO? For example how long are the night and day cycles? Is there a way to tell (from the menus for example) what time of day or even what day it is?
Baskin Robbins always finds out.

Can you really ever tell what time it is even in really life? Isn't it all just a bunch of timey-wimey...stuff?

Time in ESO works like this, I log in, play for awhile, log out, and find out that 5 hours have past by in the real world. lol

So far there is no in game (menu) way to tell time. There are a few add ons that will tell you the RL time (and the map menu shows this), but I don't think you are asking about that.

Sundials and the like have been suggested as a way to know what time of day it is. Of course you can check the position of the sun in game to know morning, noon and afternoon.

As for what day it is... Beyond giving the day of the week I think any more date related info (year, month, date) would eventually lead to some "lore" issues. But I could be wrong also.
