EU-server what is your latency, and where are you from? How to check latency guide in post!
Hello everyone first post on this forum.
Im wondering what is your latency in the game and where are you from?
Sometimes I get huge lagspikes, when in dungeons it can be fatal since Im healing so its good to get a rough estimate of the latency.
How to check latency:
1. Open task manager (ctrl+alt+delete, select: start task manager)
2. Press the Performance bar and click on Resource Monitor.
3. Select the Network bar and open the TCP Connections window.
4. Under Processes with Network Activity select ESO.exe.
5. Under TCP connections you should get all network activities in the game.
6. Latency should be shown all the way to the right. (If not: Right click one of the bars in TCP connectiont and choose "Select Columns" then select "Latency (ms)" and press OK.
Im 25 years from Norway and my latency is at average 200ms.
Im only level 22 now and so far Im loving this game so much!
The design is brilliant, how you just meet random players for events and bosses is just amazing!
I see a lot of posts about this game missing an action house but I think the supply and demand part of this game will be interesting. If you need something and its hard to get you will pay good money. Like in the real world
Hope everyone is having a great time and remember that this is a newborn baby we are playing in! The developer team is doing their best to give us what we want and what we need so just relax and enjoy the game and in a couple of months we will have this diamond polished!

✭No idea what my latency is from the UK but why would I care if I'm not experiencing any 'lag' which would be due to it? Yes, I get lag spikes and by definition those are NOT caused latency, if they have anything to do with the internet all (which most likely they're not since IMX they're very situational) it would be packet loss, not latency.
Why are people fixated on this magical number when I see no evidence the game is suffering from the likey 120-140 I'll be getting if I could be bothered to check (that's what I get to other games based on the East Coast of NA/Canada.Edited by KerinKor on April 16, 2014 7:09AM1 -

Sorry couldn't resist it. Seriously though, I am playing from China to NA and when it isn't laggy I can play fine, usually 170-250ms. But sometimes it just makes combat impossible to play, but that usually occurs right before an unscheduled maintenance Who has time? But if we never take time how can we ever have time?0 -

Yes I agree, I have no problem playing with 200ms and when lagspikes occur its not my connection nor my rig that is the problem.
I guess they have some server issues and that is acceptable
This is more of an informational post helping people wondering about their latency.

Raapnaap✭✭The weapon swap delay can at times last 5-6 seconds which will kill you. I know a lot of people that have this issue, as well as issues casting abilities in general. The game doesn't feel very responsive at times.
200+ ping is the minimum, and hardly acceptable in this day and age. I do hope they move the EU server to, uhm, the EU. Soon. If that doesn't solve the delay issues, then clearly something else is causing it.0 -
StrangerFull✭✭✭I live in Russia, no lag, friezes and delays do not observe, the connection to the game server is good. Always believed that our providers worse than any European, but, apparently, it's not so bad.
