Melee Sorcerer

I have been working to level my Two Handed, Heavy Armor Sorcerer. My skill tree has been summoning primarily and Dark magic secondary. I am thinking of going sword and board and tanking. I have found that my survivability is great, by changing out skills and I can go for high burst damage, sustained dps or with bound armor increasing damage mitigation.

Any thoughts?

I'd suggest looking into Lightning Form if you haven't, adds a great bonus to your armor and a speed bonus from one of the morphs. Bolt Escape can also be good for that damage mitigation and spell projectile absorption from a morph.

I've focused on being Support as a sorcerer with DPS on close encounters, I'm happy to hear that your build has been successful!

Don't get the speed bonus for storm form. The added duration is much better, saves you a ton of mana in the long run whereas the speed boost in combat is greatly diminished.

The only place where speed boost in storm form may be good is PvP.

I can only agree! taking in care also the passives, at lvl 50 youll have the buff on for like 10 - 11 sec. In case you choose the movement speed morph, youll have like 7 - 7,5 sec in the form. The gap between these two scales ofc. So in PvE - only Thundering Presence.

If I go Tank- Summoning and Dark Magic, Heavy armor. If I go DPS I will switch to medium armor, with Two Handed and summoning and storm Calling. Been really messing around with the different abilities. On another note, with all my heavy armor I am usually overcharged so armor adding skills dont generally do a whole lot.

If you want to tank I suggest you go vampire. Mist form (which works great with high amounts of armor) and the life drain is extremely useful for a tank.
