Vamp Night Blade question

Currently I am a level 21 dual-wielding NB Khajiit. I've been looking the class skills over for vamp. I have things like Master Assassin and Stealthy so my stealth moves are alright, I was thinking it might be possible to minimize the downside of vampirism by feeding off petty bandits and the like.
I understand the mad fire weakness which I might be able to offset with fire res glyphs and it doesn't seem like vampires burn to ash in the sun (cannot verify this but have no seen no evidence to suggest otherwise).
I am mostly a PvE player, would there be much benefit (other than personal enjoyment of being a vampire that doesn't sparkle) to the actual curse? also I saw the quest sees you encountering level 42 cultists, is it possible to sneak past these guys?
