So whose bright idea was it to bring the servers down on the weekend?

I mean seriously. some people work full time, go to school full time, and some do both. Meaning, the weekends are our only free time. If this gets to be a re-occurring thing, then I don't see the point in playing. Anyone else feel the same? (But I will say, other then this issue, this is the best mmo-rpg I have ever played)

I agree, it's a saturday night, at least take it down on a weeknight or something. Weekends are the only time I get to put a lot of time into ESO, but then again it has just recently launched. I just hope they get a set schedule for maintenance so we all can be prepared rather then find out 15 minutes before.

Generally I'm against weekend maintenance and down times. However, the log in times, loading screens and lag were making the game pretty unplayable for a lot of people.

Banking was a pain. Although I didn't have any problems once I got out of the city and was questing.

Some people are having lag issues,,,,so I guess they are fixing it. I was having some long load times.

Any idea how long they are going to be down? Anyone?

It was my Idea. I called up the CEO and told him "listen, bring the server down. My wife is making me log off and I don't want to fall behind everyone else"

and BAM. your all screwed.

Yup I'm with you there brotha. I work full time and run a side business as well. I purposely took this weekend off to give the game a shot. And then just my luck this happens.

I wouldn't say for me it's the best MMO I've ever played. EverQuest 1 pre plains of power was the best for me. PvP and PVE. Although EQ2 PVP and PVE was really good. It still wasn't as good as 1. Dark Age of Camelot had great pvp but was ruined shortly after the second expansion.

This game is very close to Dark Age of Camelot. I think it's safe enough to say it's the same game but with different graphics.

This one seemed urgent. There was some atrociously long loading screens tonight. like, 5 minute long loading screens... This wasn't planned. It was urgent, as the issue came up now.

It needed to be done, Chat lag as well as loading lag has been ramping up the last couple days to the point where it was taking minutes-hours to log in to the game or get into dungeons. Sucks that it had to happen on a Sat. night but stuff happens.

Hahahaha, thats funny cause thats just it, I was playing catch up. everyone in my Guild but me is level 20+, im only 10. lol

Ok, 1, the lag wasn't terrible. I was on most of the afternoon and evening and it was fine. 2, if you need to do emergency maintenance on a weekend that isn't a "OMG, this is a massive exploit," or "THE SERVER IS GOING TO MELT!!!!!" issue, then you do it in the wee hours of the morning like 4AM EDT.

For the people having the login and lag issues, it was gamebreaking. So yes, this was a needed emergency maintenance period.

Get used to it. This happens for the first month.

Haha, its cool man, you'll get your levels. I did quest after quest after quest. lvl 32 now. If I didn't jump around my other alts, I think my level with be higher

It doesn't matter that its the first month. I look at it this way, wanna fix lag, go work on COD and Halo, cause they need it worst then ESO.

The lag made it unplayable, I couldn't load between maps at all, it took me over half an hour to get in, then again once I got stuck in an endless loading time. This was desperately needed.

I had some crappy gameplay during the week on my laptop when I was at my grandparents' house doing the night caretaker bit, but my desktop is working perfectly. I didn't go blame the game, I tweaked my graphics settings, made sure that nothing else was running on their slow internet, and suddenly, even my laptop worked better.

I'm not sure if you're trying to troll or being serious... Why would a company go fix another company's lag issues? It does matter that the game just launched and that it is a mmorpg... not a multiplayer fps. I'm just going to leave this post at that.

The fact that they went down for maintenance would pretty much make it an important issue affecting more than just "some people".

I was having terrible load times too, and chat was terrible sometimes. I'll take the opportunity to make a nice rustic ham and cheese sandwich, and maybe catch up on Marvel's Agents of Shield.

It's only a game that is in it's first month of RL massive usage.

I remember Eve-Online and it's first few months.

It's all good.

Thank goodness there are more episodes left this season.... last week's SHIELD ended on a season finale-type cliffhanger.

I am honestly ok with them bring the servers down. Did anyone have an issue getting into the PVP zone? I did, took about twenty min on the loading screen. Not to mention the chat lag.

I am glad to see ESO is being proactive about fixes instead of waiting. I would have to image the servers won't be down too long.

I guess time will tell, but for now I am ok. If they are still down tomorrow, i will grab a pitchfork!
