Templar Leveling Build

x82nd

I am curious how much luck people have had with the various templar builds during leveling. With the cost of respecs so high I am hesitant to commit to either a magic or stamina build so have been playing it down the middle so far but I would like to eventually choose one path or another.

As a cloth wearing variety of templar, I only have 1 offensive button on my skill bars I really use thus far (lvl 31) and that is puncturing strikes. This gets me by just fine. Last night I was soloing 3 lvl 34-35 mobs in Eastmarch without too much difficulty.

Another plus would have to be that I am never without a group for something. I say "Healer LFG" and bam invites like crazy. It is also more fun than I thought it would be since you can't actually target people. This way I am not just staring at life bars all game long.

If I had the choice to roll over free of charge, I would still go full support. If you do have some stamina based talents, why not work it into a rotation with your weapon sets? Roll with 2 heavy armor and the rest light, 2H resto 1 bar and either werewolf or stam build the other?

Its only 50k to respec with 50 skill points :expressionless: . You will make that amount in no time if it turns out you aren't happy with when you have when you get that far in.

    I have been rolling 1Hshield.

    Nearly every point in magic.

    1. Shield Charge
    2. Binding Javelin
    3. Solar Barrage
    4. Reflective Light
    5. Puncturing Sweep

All the points in magic make 2-5 deal great damage and you can basically spam them. Lots of AOE damage, with a knock back and stun. Great for leveling as you can easily solo bosses and groups with easy.

Oh, I currently have heavy gear expect for my helm which is light

I'm using Biting Jabs, Combat Prayer and Honor the Dead and two slots to level up skills. As ultimate I'm using Solar Disturbance. I'm wearing all light armor with mostly magicka and some health enchants. As Mundus Stone I use The Lady at the moment. 23 points in Magicka and 16 in Health.
My character is level 40 and I can kill groups of 3-4 mobs 3 levels above me without a problem.
Before the fight I cast Combat Prayer and try to get a sneak attack with Biting Jabs

At the moment I am lvl 38. In all dungeons (all up to my level are completed) I am healing, so quite a few points are spent in the healing tree and resto staff. When alone, I am crafting a lot - have points spent in all 6 professions. I wear mostly light armour and have most of the passives here maxed. Those are my priorities, so it leaves not much for solo dps. And this "not much" is still enough to solo any quest one the way.

My general skillbar for solo questing has more or less constant look for the past 20 levels:
    1. Dark Flare / Power of the Light (I choose one of the two depending on the type of mobs. The fatter mobs - the higher chance that I will stop and slot Power of the Light).
    2. Vampire's Bane (my main spam skill).
    3. Elemental Ring (the only skill from Destruction Staff. Until I got it, I used Biting Jabs in this slot).
    4. Random skill which I want to level. Usually some back up heal.
    5. Honor the Dead (I just love to throw a quick heal at others, and it helps me to restore myself in longer fights. If I have a lot of stupid NPCs around who waste this heal, I switch to Healing Ritual - not morphed as I did not decide yet what to choose).
Ultimate. Crescent Sweep / Nova (not morphed, not decided. I use it only solo against big bosses, extra features of the morphs seem not needed yet)

Because of the ranged autoattack and the skill in my slot 3 I use only Destruction Staff as a weapon. All attributes are invested in health and most of enchants on armour are for magicka. I have just enough stamina to dodge 3 times... seems to be enough. I also have a couple of other skills with disorient/stun in case I would need those in specific solo-only instances. I did not run into such instances yet. This setup works perfect for me and maybe it will help someone else.

There's only two skills you need to roll through all solo PvE content below level 50.

    Puncturing Strikes and Rushed Ceremony.

And put Sunfire in there too so you level all three skill lines at once.

And you don't need to commit to anything because every Templar should get these three skills from the get-go to level their skill lines.

TBH you can level up to 50 without any skills. The game is way too easy, quests quests quests and done, lvl 50.

taking ANY spammable damage talent, just speeds it up, same with all classes.
