Lack of Auction House

Is it possible that because of how the mega server works that it would put too much strain on the system to have a server wide AH? Currently there are 2 servers (NA and EU) right? So there are literally thousands upon thousands of players just on a single server.

It's possible. It's something GW2 went through getting theirs up in running (which had always been a planned feature).

I do. And the theories have been posed in several hundred (yes literally hundred) threads about the same topic.

Zenimax/Bethesda just do not want a serverwide auction house. The interwebz have known about it for at least a year now, and they got some serious criticism about it, and they still did not change it at launch.

I would just sit back, enjoy the ride and see where it takes you. Try what they are selling, and see if it works. In a couple of months if it doesn't work out, then perhaps another course of action would be deemed appropriate.

I think you may have misunderstood me. I am all for this segmented trading style. Players in multiple "Trade Guilds" can buy things for lower prices and sell them for higher on another guild store. This is simply awesome. The economic structure used in ESO is much more realistic than a worldwide AH.
