How to get more Hide?

In Rawhide was easy, though not as easy as Jute or Iron to gather; you just when to the crow dungeon and harvested wolves. Hide in Dashaan is a different story. Snakes and the dinosaur beasties rarely drop Hides that can be used for crafting. I was wondering, do I have to go by Hide armors and break them down to get Hide or what. Harvesting it in the wild is not really viable.

dannomite82✭✭Not really. You should get enough green drops/rewards to break down. Use jute/flax to get your upgrade materials and supplement leather in terms of leveling up your skill.
