Hello and welcome!
I'm glad you got a hold of this ad! There is a *ton* to tell about the guild I'm here to advertise, so I'll try to be brief and not take too much of your time.
First and foremost, some technical details:
Side of the pond: EU
Faction: Aldmeri Dominion
Language: English
Focus [in order of importance] : Social PvE, PvP (and RP... Fay don't give me that look)
Attitude: Casually Hardcore! Family & Friends mindset
Guild size: Small(ish), up to 20 people
Minimum age: Around 20? (age isn't as important as attitude, and all are welcome. However, at this point I don't think anyone in the guild is below 23, with a few people being the wrong side of 40…We're just not the best crowd to mingle with the teenage mind)
Guild's First Generation gathered in 2008, back in the better days of World of Warcraft. We started the guild as a small, friendly raiding-focused community.
We had hardcore members here, people that would go an extra mile to get a 0.1% upgrade, we also had the casual, weekend players that raid rarely, if at all.
Sometimes we got pretty close to the cutting edge, thanks to the dedication of a few people, but usually we're just fine without “server firsts” and “ZOMG look my armour is better than urs!!” We encourage people to play better. We help them with finding the right spec and correct rotation, but over the years we’ve never forced someone to raid with us if they don't want to.
As time has passed we’ve jumped between different MMO games. There have been different subgroups within the guild playing DCUO, STO, SWTOR and World of Tanks (which is still a popular game around here); besides which we played a bunch of co-op multiplayer stuff (Left4Dead, Borderlands, Terraria, Civilization 4 and many more).
Okay, so now you know, we're addicted to games! We guess that's right – but games aren't really what keeps us together. It's the community we’ve got going. Very little drama combined with a lot of supportive people just trying to have a good time.
We guess our attitude is best reflected in the fact we would remove new guild members who would’ve been crucial to our raiding progression because they weren't “guild material”.
We know it sounds brutal, but it gave us chance to keep our community true to the spirit we adapted in 2008. You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs…
Of course, “egg breaking” isn't default policy towards new recruits! We do keep an open mind and are friendly to newcomers. We’re always on the look out for people who fit, and offer the prospect of a long term supportive group in return.
So here’s where you come in. Our community centred policy has often left us undermanned. Between people's jobs, universities, kids and other trivial real life pursuits we’re often were left with too few people to field a full raiding group.
So, as a majority of the guild decided to join TESO, we've officially begun recruiting and we’re looking for new members to join our community.
Who exactly are we looking for then?
First and foremost, people that prize community. A social attitude is a must. The heart and soul of the guild is our Ventrilo channel – so the ability to use voice comms is really important. People sit on Vent to talk to friends, even if they don't happen to play the same games at the moment(or any games at all). English is our universal language, but most people here aren't native-English speakers. We’re an international band, and we’re not particular about pronunciation!
We don't really care if you're a newbie to MMOs or you've been around since MUDs or Everquest. We’ve seen fresh people “catching on” within a few weeks, and we’ve seen people that played MMOs since forever repeating the most basic mistakes over and over again…
We don't like the word “mature”, because it sounds too much like “serious”. We aren't very serious people, we're rather silly sometimes. Yet we do enforce some standards; we focus when we need to, we try to swear in moderation (not always successfully). Being able to communicate without resorting to F-this and S-that all the time is imperative.
We're not looking for:
1. “I'm in it for the gear!”
Gear is meaningless. It's a tool, and you're one too if you think gear is what MMOs are about.
2. “I'm a girl! And now you’ll give me things, right honey?”
Nope, sorry. There are girls here already, and they don't get any special treatment.
3. “I'm here cuz I heard you have girlzz!”
Who told you that? Okay, we might have some girls, but you're not going to creep them out with your awkward attempts to hit on them. (Same goes for hitting on the lads!)
4. “Lets raid 5 times a week so we can...”
No! F-bomb no! If you're looking for a serious PvE/PvP guild, go somewhere else. You should meet other guilds. It's not your fault, it's ours.
5. “I am the best player ever. In my father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate's guild I was the top DPS in every raid."
You know what that makes you? Absolutely nothing.
Okay, you got all the way here. Great! Perhaps you’re thinking "Okay, those guys sound only half-brain damaged, I might give it a try. How do I get in touch with these people?" I'm glad you asked!
There are a number of ways to get in touch with us. The most direct is simply throwing us a line in-game.
@rinaxpl is the UserID of Ionis, person you should get in touch with. He'll answer all questions you might still have about us.
Can't track him down online? You can always send him an e-mail: chronormu@hotmail.com
or poke him on Steam: Pri_Pax
