Health, stamina, and magika potions not stacking in inventory

This is a huge PITA. I know how the break up a stack of potions, but can't find anything about combining them all into one stack.

If I find 1 potion, and then later I find 2 more potions of the same type, they are not automatically put into the same stack. I end up with multple slots being used for the same thing.

Am I missing something?

Are you sure they're exactly the same? I often see several with the same name be different actual level.

are you sure they are same level and identical?
There is really minimal differences between lvl 10 and 11 for example.

Yep, some of the potions are darn near the same, except one will be healing for 89, and another healing for 91. It's rediculous.

That's why. They're not 100% identical.

'Near' isn't good enough, things that aren't the same, won't stack. I just sell the lower quality ones and be done with it.

Ok. Yep that's it. Now it's even more ridiculous than them stacking.

Welcome to ESO, an extension of previous ES games.

As ES alchemists will tell you, you can stack potions ... but only if they heal for the same amount over the same period of time. But don't expect a 30 health for 14 second potion to stack with a 30 health for 15 second potion.

I do not see this as a big deal. Just sell the lower ones or give them to an alt. Them not stacking seems kind of like asking for all 100 dollar bills to stack with ones worth 101 dollars (if that existed). The two values are not the same so not the same item which is why they do not stack.

OP had assumed they were identical (for example, a level 32 health potion and a level 34 health potion have the same icon and name).

It's only when you actually mouse over it and check the level and the amount it heals for that you realize they're not the same and therefore not stackable.

OP wasn't familiar with the mechanic, as other MMOs just have 'tiered' potions for level ranges. 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc, rather than one for every 2 levels.
