[REQUEST] Skyshard proximity alert

I know that there is already several add-ons that shows the location of skyshards on the map, but I was wondering if someone with skillz could make an add-on that would make some kind of visual alert like a small glowing skyshard somewhere in th UI when the player is within say 100, 200 or 300 meters of an undiscovered skyshard?
Is it even possible?
I am thinking that the game already has a built-in way of alerting people that crafting resources are nearby, so the proximity mechanics should be possible.

To me it would be a bigger satisfaction finding the skyshards this way rather than just having the exact position handed to me by a big map marker.

Would anyone else use this?

Isn't looking at the large beam of light, going out all the way to the sky, from the skyshard, enough to detect a nearby skyshard? In the skyshard' achievement section there are clues to find every shard in that area. These methods have worked pretty well for me.

But then again, I'm one that likes to turn of the UI from time to time to just get inmersed, and have a clean look at the world.

I think there is one that adds them to the radar but i can't find it at the moment. Might work for you.

Found it. It's been discontinued. Esohead Markers Compass Version. It was later embedded in Esohead Markers but that one doesn't show Skyshards anymore.

OP said they do not want the location handed to them. So map or compass is exactly what they do not want. My guess would be something like the chiming when you near a nirnroot. I'd like this as well. The beam is nice, at night, in outdoor locations. With the chime (or any other sound) they could tone down the light a little if people wanted.

Well compass isn't exactly giving out the location but i get your point. The compass feature has been incorporated in Skyshards btw.
