Best race for nighblade?

Anyone got an opinion on what is the best race for a nightblade and/or if it makes much of a difference?

Want a better sneak and a bonus to medium armor? Khajiit! Because Khajiit like to sneak.

Otherwise, wood elf for the stamina regen, the stealth and bow bonuses.

You forget the damage bonusses a Kahjit gets by attacking from stealth, flat dmg bonus and they get a dmg bonus to critical hits as well as a higher critical chance.

Both Khajiit and Wood Elves get the 'stealthy' racial. Stealth radius and +damage from sneak.

Khajiit do get the +critical chance, though.

I picked Dark Elf because I plan on playing a Vampire Siphon/Melee NB.

Racial Fire Resist to counter act the vulnerability.

Yet another thread that assumes Nightblade = Rogue/assassin. NB can be played in so many different ways. There is no "best" race.

Uhm, perhaps YOU are the one assuming too much?
Nowhere do I see anywhere any talk about assassin, simply people talking about racials that could work with the various "skill" lines of a NB.

Since you can build any class however you want, every race can synergise with the Nightblade depending on build. Therefore there is no "best" because "best" depends on your build, not your class.

Going more magika based syphon blade? Altmer, Breton
Weapon based? Bosmer, Redguard, Khajiit
Traditional (OP in Skyrim) Dunmer vampire
Tank? (Yes, you can tank) Imperial, Nord, Orsmer
Healer/Lifestealer? Argonian

Each race has something to offer, dependent on your play style.
Or mix and match (Magika based, medium armor, Altmer syphonblade is surprisingly bursty from stealth)

My tank (granted not a NB) is Redguard due to the 1H+S affinity and the Stamina bonuses.

But yes, my "Blood Mage" NB is Argonian because I like the way they look....and the extra healing received can be nice!

So? Wheres the problem in someone wanting to play a rogue/assasin type of character?

To me makes far more sense than running a NB with a destro staff... After all Its named "Nightblade" not "Nightstaff".

The problem is trying to play the NB as it should be just sucks since many skills are bugged or simply imbalanced.

Yeap like said above , you must pick the class AND the way you want to play it.

For the traditional rogue assassin , i would go with Khajiit.

There isn't a problem playing a rogue/assassin type player, and if that's what YOU want to play that's great! I think when replying, like many have so far, state the type of NB one is playing and maybe why they picked that race. Think that is reasonable for the OP to look at different options.

My main is a Breton nightblade for (a) looks and (b) racials help magicka-use, which lets me focus my armor and skill and attribute choices more toward stamina use. To each his own. (after reading the above comment, I cannot get the "Khajiit Love To Sneak" song out of my head! ;D )

Everyone seems to forget to Argonian potion buffs... I'm currently playing an Argonian alchemist NB and I get a load of buffs on potions from race, class and craft.. I can't speak about efficiency against races but i get loads of magicka when using potions as a healer for dungeons and health when soloing (besides all the buffs you can get doing potions that increase other stats while regening health/stam/magicka)

i think khajit. mine is a argonian because i love them. But the stealth detection reduction khajits get gives you a huge advantage in pvp.

Argonian Nightblade tank. All of the Argonian traits synergies perfectly with this combo.

Dunmer +Heavy/Light armor+2*Firestaffs+Siphoning+Volcanic Rune because Burning them with fire is awesome.

Breton for everything ... suck it! Magic Resistance = awesome.

Imperial for anything melee.

Altmer/Breton for casters.

Rest are garbage.

Any of them are fine - the racials dont make enough difference to matter.

I picked Argonian for a Vampire Healer Nightblade - more pots! First rule of healing is keep yourself alive.

I wouldn't disregard a red guard nightblade stamina is important for both Dps and tanking and the racial stamina absorb and siphoning attacks stack real nicely

Stamina is hardly an issue as you consume it at such a low rate since most weaponskills are crap. NB skills are magicka hogs though, so Breton is likely your best bet, and among the most flexible ones unless you go Dunmer.
