Charged vs greater atronauch

Which one is better in later games, and pvp?
Greater atronauch lasts 28 seconds. While charged lasts 18 seconds, and does AoE.
So far, up to level 25, I have yet to see atronauch expiring before all enemies are dead, therefore charged makes sense.
But how about in later games? Near level 50? in pvp? Will charged atronauch expire too soon?
