There are some skills (class, mainly) that I have not yet morphed, though they are ABLE to be morphed... in some cases I cannot decide between the two (and don't relish the costly respec if I later decide I should have chosen the other morph)... and in some cases, NEITHER Morph looks to be "worth" a skill point expenditure since the added effects are not at all useful/interesting.
I noticed that my xp bar for an individual skill seems to be capped, looking like a "full bar" for what seems a long time. It could just be that that skill hasn't advanced to the next rank, yet, but it occurred to me to wonder.... WILL it advance if I choose not to spend a skill point to Morph it?
Presumably a skill's rank has SOME effect, and if NOT Morphing somehow stops the line from advancing, I need to know that. I would hope that it continues to track gains in the skill line so when you DO morph, the skill advances properly... but I also hope you don't HAVE to morph a skill if you do not want to spend the skill point on it...
Of course, it's moot if the rank of the skill has NO bearing on anything (other than opening up the morph in the first place).
I also wonder, though, if the entire skill LINE will continue to advance.... I've got the first skill in a class skill line unlocked and on my hotbar but NOT morphed yet, for example, and it ~feels~ like the later skills in the line are not becoming available in a timely manner.
Are they blocked until I morph the "starter" skill? Maybe I'm just being impatient and the overall class skill line is advancing so slowly that the later skills aren't opening up yet.
Like, I want Bound Armor but I don't care about the pets that precede it in the Sorcerer's skill line.... do I have to choose a morph for the pet (which is sitting on my hotbar but rarely used) or will the overall class skill line ~eventually~ increase to the point I can get Bound Armor?
