"Login From Unknown IP Address - Enter verification code that was sent to your email"

Im on the same computer as i always am, havent played on any other computer for years now, im using cable for my router to my comp, still have the same ISP as ive had for the last 4 years now, still have the same IP adresse etc etc

So why am i getting this "warning message" now ???

A few guesses, and that is all they are, are guesses. I'm on DSL myself so not exactly sure if cable modems or your ISP sets static IPs on their modems, making an assumption they don't. Some of these may not apply to you, just tossing them out.
    1) worse case first - you have a keylogger and someone else has been on your account *WORSE CASE - and hopefully not likely, if so you got bigger problems then your ESO account ;p
    2) the last patch i think i heard something about almost everyone having to do this
    3) you logged onto your account from a diff location (friends house, coffee house, etc etc)
    4) rebooted cable modem and it pulled a diff IP
    5) rebooted router and it pulled a diff IP
    6) maintaince on the ISPs side which took down your internet for any length of time may make your modem/router get a diff IP
    7) maintaince on your ISPs authentication box may make you end up with a diff IP address

those are the ones i can think of off the top of my head that may make ESO think you are logging in from a diff IP.
Oh and 8 ) ESO whoopsies

I have been having the same issue occasionally. I believe for me it is-
No. 8- Desktop computer hardwired to wireless router in house with 1 other hardwired comp and several wireless devices. I shut it off every night and the next day devices may connect in different order, getting assigned different IPs by router.

I should add that I have not had this problem with any other game.

i am by far not a networking wiz at all....going to take a wild stab tho. Not sure if by shut it off every night you are referring to your router or your comp. If it is the router you shouldn't need to shut it off every night, there is nothing wrong with just leaving it running. If you are shutting it off every night I'd assume your router is dropping the IP your ISP's DHCP server is giving it and assigning a new IP to it each time you turn it back on. Your devices connected to the router should be given an IP address from the router itself and i don't believe that is the IP elder scrolls is looking at since that is just an internal network IP. If'n I'm mistaken tho someone please speak up. Going to have to give my comp a diff IP from the router tonight to see now that I'm curious.

i belive it's game related, last night i got dropped off my server with an unknown error, at the same time i was watching a flick on viaplay ( kinda like HBO but for scandinavia ) and my net was working fine, but i found that the game dumped some memory during the loading screen and then it booted me with the error.
After that i just logged back and i got the IP issue once again, so i think it has to do with a minor memory leak in the game somewhere.

They need to disable this crap, or require an authenticator or something.
Its getting really annoying having to verify my "location" every time I login.

This is MY computer, and I choose the password.
If it gets compromised, thats MY problem, and I'll correspond with Zenimax accordingly.

Happened to me after tyhis patch, I only put verification for this PC a few days ago when I started playing again, id say its a bug with the patch.

Problem is, if you get compromised, it costs them time and money to solve the issue, so best deterrent is to have good security in place.
